Idk if he's a better shooter than Beverley right now.

The logical thing to do is to trade Capela or Johnson, since they just don't look ready.

Canaan was great when Beverley got injured, so I think Canaan will be very good for insurance. I really don't understand why they are playing Nick Johnson instead of Canaan. Canaan deserves playing time so much more than Johnson. Johnson's shot is broken.

I have to admit I don't get why Nick is getting minutes of Canaan. Makes no sense to me.

    I totally agree.

I was just responding to that sentence that Canaan is the best shooter on the team right now, Beverley is shooting 43% behind the arc, which is pretty darn good.

It's gotta feel terrible to be one of the guys on the bottom of the list getting shopped on Christmas Eve...

Could be trying to showcase Nick or keep Canaan shelved as an asset. When he went out he was looking pretty good - chances are higher he hurts his trade value more than helps it if he were to continue getting major playing time.

It would feel worse if you were on the bottom of the roster a week ago. Everyone would like to play for a contender if their future earnings were not on the line. Now-being traded might suck but at least you'll get more minutes wherever you're going.

The nitpicking over which player will be cut seems especially silly when we're picking up a starter.

Do you think Dorsey or Black could be shipped to cleveland?

Dorsey is the only dead-weight on the roster.

Black, Canaan, Johnson are decent borderline-second stringers.

Don't know why Morey drafted Capela is who is two years away from two years away. He usually likes the 4 year player type later in the draft.

I think Dorsey stays. he has a lot of upside on defensive side.

Or maybe the Rockets are just trying to see where Nick is at and helps him know what he needs to be working on before he gets sent back to the dleague. If there is any time Nick can get any playing time, it would be in December. I should take back what I said about his shots being broken. He was shooting his 3s pretty well (36%) in college. Maybe it just takes awhile for him to adjust to the NBA.

Watch Morey turn one of our bottom 3rd into something sweet.

Maybe the right to swap 2nd round picks. even that would be better than nothing.

'Cold, calculating Morey' also gets Harden, Howard and Smith three years in a row. They better learn from the master.

We went from prioritizing development and flexibility to contending this year very quickly. No time for babysitting; everyone has got to produce or else ...

It'll be cool for Morey to trade Black or Dorsey for 2nd pick in return.
But it's more possible to waive one of them......
And it might be Nick also .....

I'm genuinely curious here- you folks think Capela or Johnson gets a first-round pick in return? Seriously? Wow.
