Sweet, I am excited about DH and JSmoove pairing up at C/PF. DMo is a great defender but Smoove is a better rebounder and shot blocker. Now Smoove or Howard can relentlessly attack lane drivers with the shot block without worrying about giving up offensive rebounds as much. Hopefully we see a motivated Josh Smith who does nothing but shoot corner 3s and layups/dunks.
I wonder where this team ranks in our franchises history in terms of most talent on a roster. I know the mid-80s team was probably the most talented team we've had in our franchise.
I know alot of Atlanta fans loathed Josh Smith, wanting to pull their hair out everytime he shoots and bricks those jumpers. Hope things are different on the Rockets.
exactly. Uncle bob would never have a guy like J Smoove. One of the many reasons why the rockets are much more interesting and fun to watch.
What is interesting about Josh Smith on the Rockets, is that this is the FIRST time where Smith is NOT one of the primary scoring options. This is HARDEN'S & HOWARD'S team. Smith's role will be more defined and limited and I think that will make the most out of his talent.
And he's not done yet. He has assets and plenty of time to boost the roster. The Pistons did something startling, but other teams will start bailing soon. And neither Ray Allen or Jermaine O'Neil are going to commit until the West shakes out, and if the Rockets can stay in the top four, Morey might even be able to reel one of them in.
Yeah sorry. Smith played with Johnson, Horford, Crawford, Bibby, and Marvin Williams (who for some reason was actually taking quite a bit of shots). I understand what you're saying. But Smith will still be a primary scoring option here. Who exactly is the 3rd option over him? Ariza? Bev? Brewer?
Hope he can do it being the fourth/fifth option on the team like Jones was. We can't afford to give J-Smoove more shots than Howard or Harden.
Well the offensive output will almost certainly go down, but you'll have supercharged the bench which could make up for it.
