Not me. Even when I don't agree with something, you always have to leave open the possibility that something could work out. Back in 1996, there were literally 1,000s of people who said Rodman on the Bulls would not work- he and Pippen couldn't co-exist due to their history, Jordan wouldn't stand for his antics, etc. Even with PJ as coach. Certainly, no one in their right mind could have predicted a 72-win season. And there were many, many Rockets fans who said giving up Thorpe for Drexler would make us worse in 1995, especially a mid-season trade. After those, I learned that you really just never know. You've had great teams never win it all (Phoenix Suns w/ Nash, Amare), teams shock the heck out of you (2004 Detroit Pistons, 2007 GS Warriors), and guys you would never think would fit fit (Artest, LA). With Rondo, people that are predicting horrible results best beware- it could turn around in their favor- maybe they figure out a way to integrate Rondo in the offense like Boston did in the championship year- who knows? You can't really be faulted for predicting success for a team gaining a proven commodity like Rondo or Smith. You can, however, look like a fool doing the opposite.
Pieces falling into place nicely! Never doubt Morey. A nice upgrade from last season with Ariza, Terry, Brewer and now Smith. Work it Morey! Just 1 piece left. Now get us Dragic and let's get us a ring!
More like a PF playing SF shooting those percentages. But that defense ... He won't be ultra efficient, but he improves our depth for sure
I'm okay with that if they are traded for Dragic Also, calm down. You know as well as I do that Smith has his pros and his cons. We aren't asking him to be an SF here or even an offensive option. Harden and Howard have the ball. Smith won't. Maybe on backdoor cuts or garbage baskets. But on defense? You can't tell me Smith is a huge upgrade over TJones or DMo on defense, and now being able to throw both Ariza and Smith at a leading SF in the league, tiring the crap out of them? Yes please. And the final thing that clinches it...it is all for just $2.1M. COME ON.
Now who to trade between DMo or TJones? Wouldn't mind Ariza leaving and making Brewer a full time starter either.
Exactly! Josh Smith the PF, only! In Houston Ariza/Brewer/Kpap have ALL of the SF minutes. Josh Smith will get PF minutes and maybe even C minutes in a super fast smaller lineup.
Yep. He will be asked to play his natural position next to Dwight. Lots of activity around the rim. Team's won't know who to double. If anything this will make Harden even better. It's got me thinking... Could this be the Big 3 Morey's been striving for?
