$2 million for one year. There is literally ZERO reason to not like this deal. If it works out, then this team just bolstered it's starting lineup with Smith AND it's bench with D-Mo. If it doesn't work out, then they just wasted $2 million this year... Big deal.

Josh Smith and Howard to throw lobs too. Harden is going to have a field day with this lineup. The Rockets were so thin before, that heavy minutes were being played. There is no excuse why Harden/Howard should play over 35 minutes a night.
And if this pickup tells you one thing! Jones or D-Mo are getting traded. The Rockets are praying that Jones gets back healthy and will showcase himself for a perimeter scorer to come off the bench. D-Mo is a great backup center.

It would not make much sense to trade DMo if Jones is going to be out for the year. Who will play back up PF? I'm not comfortable with Papanikolau guarding most teams in the West at the PF spot. Alternatively, why would we trade Jones if we're unlikely to re-sign Smith after the year is up? I say unlikely because he will likely demand more $ than Morey is willing to spend on him.
