Why are you so afraid of his missing shots? He'll just take some of the shots that Ariza is now chucking. He can shoot his midrange jumper or at the rim. We'll find the most efficient spots for him to shoot from. His defense, rebounding and passing will be a boon for us.

Interesting...again, I still think we have this one locked up at about an 80% clip, but still yet, a team like Memphis scares me. They're an attractive destination at this point.
I'd rather he be used to his strengths which means he never shoot the ball further than like 5 feet from the rim, max. If they can get through to him and make him finally realize that he's a terrible shooter and get him to abandon it entirely, then he'll be fine. I just don't think he'll do that. He'll make the team FT shooting even worse than it is now, but I can live with that because he'll add depth to the team. There is logic to DMo running the second unit and beating up on backups and it is true that we don't know when or if Jones will be back this season, and it is true that Smith is cheap so maybe this ends up being okay. I'll just keep repeating "In Morey we trust" till we have a decent enough sample to know if this is one of his rare blunders or if he pulled off something amazing again.
Woj pretty much says Houston is a lock in that statement though. Memphis just wants a meeting with the man. I dont want to be Chris Boshed again though
"Stacked" could mean we don't need to add another piece though..I have a bad feeling about this. I hate you bosh.
I'm confident that he's gonna come here...lots of smoke about it, and there seems to be a consensus about it amongst the media. If he ends up somewhere else, I'll be very disappointed. He is far from perfect, but he is what we currently have available....for a gaping hole at the PF spot(DMo should come off the bench, imho). Hopefully he'll sign today, so we can all exhale a bit during Xmas.
Memphis isn't a threat. We offer the best man, and starting 4 position for a team that is more likely to make noise in the playoffs. No way.
I like this.....we still have the advantage but teams like MEM going after means a) they think it's a low risk high reward deal (and they're not concerned about him being a cancer like some posters here do) and/or b) they don't want us to have him and therefore are afraid of us if we acquire him. Either way I'm happy!
We are the only contender who can offer him a starting spot along with more money. It is really a no brainer.
Morey's clearly making a mistake signing Josh Smith. A bunch of playoff teams where the fit is even more questionable, but a bunch of posters have told me he's not a worth going after
