Funny how in this thread everyone is against it, and in the other thread most are saying "well deserved".
CF SAFETY ADVISORY: Anti-McHale trolls are on suicide watch through the week. Use extreme caution if you encounter one in person. If the Rockets lose on Friday, please stay indoors and avoid any communication with the Anti-McHale trolls until a CF SAFETY ADVISORY is issued giving the all-clear.
I understand what your saying. He needs to make better adjustments this year in the playoffs or it was a dumb extension. He has great players on his team, but playoffs will expose you of your not ready. He was not ready last year. But I'm all for giving him another chance. He has more experience this time around.
McHale deserves the extension after the job he has done, especially this year. He is prone to mistakes and blunders, but he is a good head coach and figurehead for this team. Very respected around the league and players want/love to play for him. While some of his criticism is justified, I always felt like the majority of critics didn't understand that McHale was basically a rookie head coach when he got here and had to learn how to be a coach, basically on the fly. He had a stint with the Wolves as an interim but nothing compared to his time in Houston. Just as Harden had to learn how to become a superstar, McHale had to learn how to become a head coach. McHale has really done great job, considering everything that has happened in his tenure so far. All the constant changes Morey has done, adjusting to getting Harden then a year later Howard, the influx of players and rookies. It's been a wild ride. Yet, here we are 20-7 one of the top teams in an ultra competitive West when many predicted we would struggle. He has done a great job. And is still learning.
Didn't see this coming. Hey, Dragic. Come here and you will have your beloved coach McHale for at least three more years!

Meh team has improved he isnt an x's and o's coach but with the team succes and im sure our players love him, he deserves it.
wow, that's pressure. Marching orders from the owner himself. I think that means our roster is pretty much set. They're confident we will have a big signing today. I think McHale and the assistants are working better now in terms of in-game adjustments. With our coaching staff, it's always teamwork.
McHale earned the commitment. He earned it... he's taking huge steps forward and showing he knows what's up. The team culture is great!
