I think he'll sign before so he can party with Howard on new years. They're buds right?

It's the Eve of Christmas and the closing of Hanukkah. People, filled with the spirit of the season, will remain hopeful and wish him well in whatever he chooses to do...

I actually expect him to take his time and come to a decision in January, heck take a vacation, there is no hurry for him, he is still being paid.

If somehow he decided to sign with another team, you and many others will say he is a cancer the next second.

Seriously doubt that. TJ is a smart player.

What's your deal? It's Christmas, the Rockets are 20-7 and on the verge of making a huge splash, and the Mavs are 1-2 after their big trade. Lighten up.

Per the Varejao thread in the NBA Dish, maybe Morey will delay a day signing Smith so he can first unload Dorsey (and his guaranteed contract) to the Cavs.

It's interesting how everyone calls Smith a cancer for a little more than one bad season of play, where as SVG gets no heat even though 3 teams have turned on him during his career.

We finally have depth on this team, and we got Brewer and Smith for practically nothing. When healthy...

    Beverley/ Terry
    Harden/ Brewer
    Ariza/ Papa
    Smith/ Jones
    Howard/ DMo

Probably since its Christmas Eve and it's increased my wishful thinking. I hope this Josh Smith signing is as big of a game changer to our franchise as when the Lakers got Pau Gasol. :D

    My deal is very simple.

I don't post to fire McHale and disband the team after we will lose 2 in a row, nor I will be jumping up and down and screaming the Rox will win a championship after we will get a cancer from another team.

Look, he can work out great for this team, of course he could be a high reward player, but this is also a high risk move.

Last time I checked, the Mavs offense took a big hit after getting Rondo and inserted him into their starting lineup.

Last time I checked, Danny Granger, big baby, Andrew Bynum were all cut last year and picked up by contenders.

Last time I checked, I can't remember any player whose in his prime with no injuries, while still have 30 mils guaranteed contract and his team basically told him to "Fork off".

    So, be real.

Yea that's a bit much. Even Rasheed to the Pistons is overselling it. Both those guys were on high dollar contracts that their original did teams did NOT decide to waive.

But the Rasheed idea in essence is a good one. On the Jailblazers he was one of the ringleaders. With the Pistons he was again one of the leaders, but this time in a positive way. You look at Josh Smith, and yea he is a loose cannon on the court, but it doesn't mean that he's a bum like Andrew Bynum or damaged goods like Ed Reed or just cashin dem checks like Scottie Pippen. Smith has an always been healthy as far as I know. He's always been tenacious on the court. We just need to turn that energy in a positive direction.

Te best case scenario is Rasheed. Worst case scenario though could still be Steven Jackson on the Spurs. One year he helps them win a title. The next year he's cut. It could be that simple.

doubt this - from all reliable reports it seems Houston has this guy locked up the longer signing him is delayed the more chances other teams get to try to lure him away. (Especially if Miami gets the DPE and can offer more $) Not that I think he would sign elsewhere but I dont think trying to work a deal to unload Dorsey is a necessity. I don't know if the staff feels Dorsey is better suited as a backup to Dwight and Dmo over Black.

Our luck with power forwards has always been bad.

Royce White, Terrance Jones with the "What the F" injury of the year, and Carl Landry who started to get in a groove until he was almost gunned down.

Can we just get lucky this once with J-Smoove!
