I wish everyone on Clutchfans a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May our Houston Rockets shine brightly.
Merry Christmas cyber thank you for all that you do for us. You and your family have a wonderful holiday. #Rednation
If you think about the flow of events, it's strange that Plowman and Drew aren't getting more congrats. I and I'm sure most others never even thought of Dragic before I believe Drew mentioned it. At that time it was still assumed the Rockets were targeting Rondo. Don't get me wrong. Drew was and still is an ass who likely oversold just how much "talks" were between the Rockets and Suns. And Plowman also likely overestimated how far the discussions were, both with Dragic and with other players like Bledsoe. But they were definitely the first to move from Rondo to Dragic as the Rockets' primary interest. And now it's turned out that the Rockets clearly have Dragic in their sights for a while now. To the point where when Clutch, cyberx and national media are leaking the news, no one even paused. If people had truly dismissed Plowman and Drew, then this literally should've been breaking news. After all, not everyday the Rockets tell everyone they're going after 3rd team All-NBA player. Anyway, this thread has been nice and I do hope to hear more rumors, if only since it's always fun to speculate.
If Josh plays well, he can be useful. Having all the 3 of them on the floor will cause the same problems as in Detroit. Let's see how it plays out.
Harden: "Josh you get me a few rebounds I let you chuck a few 3's...deal?" Josh: "Deal" And we all live happily ever after.
I agree. It was just a best case scenario. Shved would be released, his contrat expires a few months later nyways Canaan would replace dragic and their 15th man is probably worth cutting for Capela. So they'd probably have to find a way to dump Dorsey on someone and attach a second rounder.
That's very possible. Terry is a gun and he's done it in The Finals. Consider this: Shved and Kostas is $7,873,123 in salary. Those 2 salaries could be traded for up to $9.8 million in incoming salary. Now add Capella to Shved/Kostas and you're up to $9.06 million in salary. Those 3 salaries can be traded for up to $11.3 million in incoming salary. Throw in some portion of Canaan/Black/Johnson/Jones/Dorsey and you can see without including Terry what we can do in trade. Probably everything we need to do. Now consider this: Terry + Kostas + Shved + Capella is $14.9 million in outgoing salary. That gives us the ability to trade for up to $18.6 million in incoming salary. And finally, here's the biggie: Terry + Kostas + Shved + Ariza is $22.3 million of outgoing salary. Could very easily trade for any single player plus 3 minimum salary players. (hint) So it's possible we could acquire a guy like Dragic or Rubio and/or Brandan Wright and it's possible we could acquire a big time superstar on a very high contract between now and the deadline.
If this team gets josh smith and dragic. The non bosh signing and and non melo signing will turn into another empty gasol and nene trade. And morey will have dodged himself again. Dragic, smith, brewer, ariza >>>>>> parsons, bosh or Melo. Seriously if somehow the rockets end up with this bench and have some health next year they could challenge the bulls 72-10 record Pg Beverley SG terry SF Brewer PF Jones C Dmo Wowow
I suspect Morey has agreements in place with both Minny and Philly to take on at least one player each. Morey sent Minny $1 million as part of the Brewer/Daniels trade. The original plan was Minny was going to pick up Garcia for us since we couldn't trade him to them. So since they didn't do it, I suspect they agreed to take on another contract instead with probably Morey sending them a little more cash to cover the salary. Also if you will consider the Turiaf/Shved trade, and understand what happened there, there is probably some future considerations already agreed to between Morey and Hinkie. Because Philly was basically PAID around $3 million to get a second round draft pick from the Rockets. Turiaf's salary is covered by insurance and they were able to dump Shved's money and get a second rounder besides. Philly already has an extra roster spot after dropping Turiaf anyways. And Minny has Adrien on a non-guaranteed deal until like Jan. 10.
