    This....

I don't believe people realize how much Ariza has played this year when it comes to minutes. I'm not saying he's Ray Alan by any means but he has tired legs.

Well if he starts jacking up bad shots I hope he still isn't one to notice where he is on the court when he gets benched.

And I hope if he gets benched that sits well with his buddy Dwight and doesn't cause problems behind the scenes.

I would only support this if Dwight and Josh stopped being friends

Smith isn't going to get benched. Honestly I think what happens over the next 24 hours will determine much of our fate. Smith is going to thrive if he is on this roster. He just has to sit back and perform in a more limited role than he has in his career. You can bet if he comes on he will be adhering to our team mentality.

Smith is the 2nd best perimeter creator on this roster at the moment. We ultimately need a Dragic or something but Smith will help. How will Aldridge like a rotation of Howard/Smith/Motie guarding him.

For 2 Million this seems like the break we have been needing.

at his size, he has elite talent and skills. for $2M it's worth seeing if our lockerroom can bring him back from the dead.

Smith's biggest problem as a player is that he somehow doesn't realize how laughably terrible he is on offense. In Houston, he should be the 6th option on offense if he's in the starting 5. If we could ensure that he never, ever had the ball, ever on offense, and could make him and Dwight no longer be friends, then I'd support picking him up.

Well yeah, that's the only reason to even consider it. There's lots of solid reasons why he only costs 2 mil and is being paid 26 mil by another NBA franchise to go away and play for someone, anyone else.

Let's not overrate him. You and I both know that we'd all be laughing at any other team if he was going there.

    lol

Dwights only hope right now is the Rockets to win it all. If Smith is making that hard he will not contest that he gets benched. Smith come in here and plays to his potential we would be among the top teams in the NBA. It should be a no brainer.

Let's not underrate him either. He is a pretty good defender and got a big contract for a reason

So you think alley oops and passing the ball to him when he is open inside is not good basketball or efficient? Tell me more....

Nah... Just interesting him saying he can't comment you'll have to want and see. Sounds positive to me to the ones that want to bring him on. If Dwight thought he wasn't coming then he would probably say something like I just told him to do what's best for him and his family

    Let's see.

It was the Pistons.... That voids all.

The last month the Pistons have been using him as a four and he has played well.

He's a talented offensive player. He is what TJ wants to be.

Alley oops would be alright so long as he dunks them and doesn't for whatever reason just grab the ball, run out to the 3 point line or mid range and chuck something at the rim. If it was anyone other than Josh Smith, I wouldn't think that scenario possible, but with it being Josh Smith, I wouldn't put it past him.

Most team that grabs him I would start to consider them more of a threat. He is possibly that good of a defender. Our one position of weakness is now filled and that makes me excited. And the price is so cheap as to be laughable.

Jesus, what did he do, **** your significant other or something? You're being ridiculous and stupid, and there's no reason to be that way b/c if he winds up being a huge benefit for our team, you'll need to eat a few troths of crow.

Fair enough, we just view him differently. If he's an 8 out of 10 defensively, he's a -8 offensively at best. If he breaks even for the Rockets I'll be happy, but I'm not expecting it. He'll be replacing a PF who is better on both sides of the ball, but he'll be creating better depth so maybe it'll end up alright. If Jones was healthy, there would be 2 PF's on the roster I'd take over him.
