He played a different position, on a team with a faster pace and better defense, and with shooters like Teague, Korver, and Horford. Detroit is a mess and we all knew this was going to happen as soon as he signed that contract.

Just out of curiosity IF Josh Smith were to sign with Dallas instead of us, which i consider to be our only true competition because of Rondo, would he slide into the starting 5 at the 3 spot or come off the bench? I have to guess bench but he would certainly bolster they're defense. I can't see The 15 million dollar man coming off the bench. Doesn't seem like something Cuban would be okay with. Parsons would be the most overpaid 6th man in the league.

If Smith comes here it seems to me like he would be a shoe in to start at the 4 alongside Dwight while our bench gets bolstered by D-Mo. Just different selling points to make to him on his final decision.

Exactly, if this team were in the east we could make it to the ECF, hell maybe the finals, but if you don't have a loaded team in the West you aren't going anywhere but home in early May. It's like some people are happy just making the playoffs...

Houston has made it out just once in the first round since Hakeem and we're acting like Smith is going to ruin some legacy. What legacy? Rockets didn't make it out of the first round until we got Artest, so I'd say even if it's only one season and Detroit is paying just go for it. Unless you like watching other teams in the playoffs...

I agree with this. however its such a tough decision. Bev is playing the best ball of his career and so id Dmo. I'm just scared it would come back to haunt us. More so with Dmo as he continues to improve. I think he's going to turn into a dominant PF int he near future.

definitely what it seems like. a lot of people don't understand how good a team needs to be in order to win it all. you want to rely on unproven players to take you deep in the playoffs rather then established vets who have been in the league. very puzzling indeed.

Most Improved Player, made it onto an All-NBA team, earned himself a lucrative second contract, etc.....

But D-Mo has been a unique dolphin for the last month so he wins.

DMo is developing really well, I would rather go to him then Dwight on the low post. Picking up JSmith will just kill his motivation and drive and DMo will be back at square one.

Yeah, I don't think they should give up DMo just yet, wait till trade deadline to see PHX get desperate. And as stated above I'm not sold on DMo for Dragic. Hopefully we can get him cheap, because who's to say Dragic stays, I just read where he's okay with Knicks now...

    Yeah but this
    [IMG]

Has made everyone today a general manager with an abundance of information on every player... Smith has low % shooting the three, Smith has low % shooting the two, Smith has low % scoring period, Smith sucks...... Blah blah blah...... Every situation is different. Anyone who thinks letting Smith walk into The Mavs, Spurs or any western conference team is crazy. Why? Because I guarantee you he makes anybody in the west better...For The Rockets its not so much about getting him as a star, its about getting him as depth and rotation. With Brewer and Smith in the bench this team would down right scary.... SCARY!!!!!!!!!

He has had some big games in the playoffs when he was with Phoenix the first time. I really hope the Rockets can get him without giving up DMo or the veteran Terry.

    Bev/Dragic (6th man)
    Harden/Brewer/Terry
    Ariza/Papa
    Smith/Dmo
    Howard/Black

That team is stacked. So many different lineups you could run with, including giving Smith some time at the 5 depending on matchups.

Smith is the toughness we need when it comes to guarding all of those All Star PF.

Stop talking about just his offense, he won't be asked to make buckets. We have more than enough players around him to do that. His MO would be rebounds and defense on THIS team.

Dmo and brewer off the bench would be great every way u look at it.

    Really I'm just concerned about:
    LMA
    Duncan
    Zbo
    Griffin
    And all the other ones.

Dmo can not stop these guys. He is better at offense(which makes him perfect off the bench)

yeah ill take another route just like you run away from my argument deflecting it from winning in PO to winning individual accolades

DMO has won that game against Goran on 6th december starting alongside tarick black undrafted rookie and jason terry washed up vet

DMO posted double double scoring more and more efficently than Dragic whose team lost due him posting number worse then jeremy lin

+1..went from a team with questionable depth to very solid, all by giving up troy daniels and pennies

I dont think so, think about it. Dmo is almost 7 feet (or is). If anything, he can still get a lot of minutes by running him at the 4 and 5. Smith can run the 4 and he can sub for smith, and he can sub for dwight and run the 5. Still getting get a lot of minutes between those two positions.

Dmo will be on the bench, Smith won't be playing the 3 anymore.

Cmon man, just stop....... You want to trade a promising young center/forward for Dragic........ PBev has earned his spot and all he needs is a solid backup. Canon Ball could be that guy.... Keeping DMO is important.

We answered your question lol but that means nothing becuase Dmo won houston that game on december 6th
