I think we get him. Finally he has a chance to play alongside Dwight. Why would he turn it down? He's also still fighting to erase his bad reputation as a chucker. What better way than to be on a winning team where he can be the starter. DMo on the bench unit would beast it up against the back-up bigs. And McHale loves to mix and match the starting and bench units anyway.
Idk, DMo seems to be a really big team first guy since his first season in the NBA. He'll probably be happy to have some help more help up front as long as he isn't frozen out of the rotation. McHale on record tonight in the post game that he'd love to go 10 deep if possible.
In last years playoff we had a 7 men rotation. Maybe we go to 8 this year, but certainly no more than that. That means, ideally, we Need a big men that can backup the 4 and 5 spot. That's DMo. Plus he is someone who can create his own shot with the second unit. He could still Play 25-30 minutes easily. At what time exactly does Smith clear waivers? And is there a real chance that any team claims him and his terrible contract?
Does anyone know why the Pistons were trying to play him at the SF position? I know that they had Monroe and Drummond but I never really understood why they wanted him to play the SF position. He was clearly a better player at the PF position. Overall, I think this would be a solid pick up for Houston. I think upgrading your current PF position without having to make a trade is huge for this team. This also helps the team gain any leverage as well for further trades. As for D-Mo having a fit, I don't think he will. I think his biggest complaint was not getting any minutes at all. I can recall McHale not even playing him during the playoffs. I know D-Mo has gain the trust of the coaching staff and his teammates. I expect him to play at least 25 plus minutes a night. He'll be the biggest reason on keeping Howard's minutes down the rest of the year.
sometime wednesday, and zero chance. I think actually Philly might be the only team that could claim the contract, and they aren't going to.
My thoughts as well. He'll be the first one off the bench. Howard will take a break probably around the 5 minute mark. I believe Wednesday morning is what I saw.
While I have no doubt D-Mo can turn out to be a really good player, lol at the people in this thread that suddenly act like D-Mo is untouchable now because he had a few solid weeks. Remember the "scrub" Jeremy Lin averaged 18 and 8 in 25 games as a starter in NY? What happens to D-Mo when he makes some noise and gets scouted? If you can get Josh Smith and then flip D-Mo for Dragic, you do it. Although I'm hoping we could trade T-Jones instead of D-Mo because of D-Mo's defense and that D-Mo can play center.
Pretty close from all the reports out there. I mean all the media was basically giving Houston Bosh including Woj.
I'm not going to say D-Mo is untouchable but I can't see Morey making a trade for Dragic with D-Mo being the focal point of the trade based on T-Jones being out. Houston doesn't have enough big bodies. If Jones were healthy, I would probably use him though to get the job done.
ohyeah i know we were very close, but does anyone else here think about how close we came to that. i do all the time and thankful
This. Suppose we land Josh Smith and trade D-Mo for Dragic. It leaves us with Dorsey and Black playing all the backup 4/5 minutes. If we could get Phoenix to send Plumlee with Dragic, or perhaps sign O'Neill (which seems unlikely at this point), that's already a different story.
