Nah he's lost ALOT of his athleticism. Dude is not dunking and finishing nearly as much, playing farther from the basket like Stoudemire did when he lost his athletcism. I still want him for real cheap though, better than Dorsey.
So that Josh Smith sighting in the city of Houston a couple of days before the Brewer-Shved trades was significant. Probably he and his agent talking to the Rockets brass. C'mon over, Josh. Get on board the championship train. Presumably Morey had also informed Harden and Howard of the possibility. Rockets bench is jittery because they don't know who's going to be cut to make room for Smith. Dorsey got the minutes tonight to see what he could do. I think coaches are choosing between Dorsey and Black.

So if we get Josh Smith, we pay him the BAE ($2M plus) and DET pays the balance of his contract? Just like we're still paying Scola, right? Sounds fair
This is probably why we didn't go for Wright or Bass. We knew Smith was going to be available. So Smith is Howard's buddy. When will James' buddy Kevin come over?
Or do we just shut down TJones for the rest of the year? That injury was so sudden and so debilitating.
assuming we get the unmotivated josh smith from recent months. I'm holding out hope we get a better version than that. Smith is certainly capable of being better then Wright for sure
Bima earlier tweeted how the Rockets are creeping closer to the hard cap. If so, then it makes sense to trade Black to a crappy team like the Sixers just to get him off the books. This gives us another extra $1mil to play with as opposed to cutting Dorsey.
This. He just turned 29 earlier this month and never had serious knee issues or any injury for that matter that would hinder him. It's hard to play hard when you play for a team that's 5-23 and you're not a natural leader but getting paid like one. I think a winning culture will bring back "J-smoove".
