Pretty sure that's how Morey decides who to trade for.... Plays 1000 simulated seasons of 2k, and if the player dominates, he gets them. Works 95% of the time.
My guess is that the money is more a symbolic gesture than anything practical. As many have mentioned, the Rockets BAE is only a few hundred K over minimum, and Miami's DPE is only a few hundred K over ours. But it's important to get out the message that you want the guy. Morey has clearly been trumpeting the fact that the Rockets are offering more money to show we're embracing him. When in reality Josh Smith may not actually care much about the difference. I don't think Miami's a threat if only because he's not getting less time here. Josh Smith will get 30mpg with us. Even if Jones get back, the Rockets probably move one of Jones/DMo at the deadline anyway, perhaps for Dragic.
Wow in before 1000. To be honest I don't really want Smith, but if he comes at 2 million then he would be a great add
I better wake up to a report that Josh Smith is flying to Houston to meet with Morey. If that's even legal.

I got 999 problems but getting Smith at 2 mil ain't one! What I like about having D-Mo come off the bench is that he would get more touches offensively and play less with Dwight - whom I believe lessens his abilities.
