He's done with the children here and taking his ball and going home.

Josh Smith isn't even remotely as athletic as he was during his prime in Atlanta. Why even consider this washed up POS...

Yeah I think this is literally a no brainer. And I honestly think some of the rhetoric is motivated not so much out of real concern but out of the tendency to just be contrarian IMO

I bet Harden don't even want him on the team. He needs the ball in his hands and we got Monty playing the starting PF and Jones when it comes back.. Josh Smith can shoot worth a lick and has last his athleticism. What more to washed up could you possibly want? He can't help the Rockets.

Hardly any drop off in blocks and steals per 36 min. Fouls less. Highlights still show him making athletic plays. Maybe he's lost some athleticism, compared to his early 20s, but who hasn't.

Definitely would pick up Smith off waivers. Is it vet min or highest bidder? Not sure how it works but i'd love to have him for cheap.

Here are some head to head matchup histories with notable western conference power forward:

    LMA
    [IMG]

    Dirk
    [IMG]

    Blake
    [IMG]

    Duncan
    [IMG]

    Randolph

Looks like he holds his own maybe 40% of the time.

If we can pick him up for cheap after he clears waivers, why wouldn't he? At the worst, he is a solid rebounder, defender, and passer. At best, he is a 17p/10r/3a/2b caliber player, which would work wonders for the team. The question is, will he take a backseat in Dallas behind Dirk and play with HS buddy Rondo or come to the Rockets to play with homeboy Dwight and MVP candidate, top SG Harden for more money?

Some stats or clips to back up your assertions. Otherwise you just sound like a bitter poster making stuff up to suit your narrative. Burden of proof is on you....

Just because a player is unproductive, even disgruntled and unmotivated, in a bad situation, it does not mean that he cannot turn things around in a different setting. A recent example is Boris Diaw. Remember him being fat and lazy on the Bobcats, who paid him to go away? Look what happened to him.

The Rockets, Mavs, Heat, etc. are all after Josh Smith. This doesn't mean that Smith is still a top level player, but it is pretty good indicator that he is at least a worth-while gamble.

I'll admit - I was against getting D12 when we were trying to trade for the one year rental...
The whole SVG thing... locker room cancer.... no work ethic....

    glad I was wrong... ;)

Gold stars for this guy. I love it when people try to create their own image of what a locker room situation is like without evidence.

Diaw was the same player the popped into mind for me. It's just a matter of Smith accepting a role as a role player. An Artest type role would be great too.

I dunno...if Morey is interested in him then that's all I care about.

I did that search & this is what I found on the 1st 2 pages. A couple of articles that mentioned the 1 day suspension by the Hawks. 6 articles about SVG waiving him. A couple of articles involving Detroit moving him. A couple of polls about cancers on the teams. 1 article about the Hawks not starting him the 2nd half of a game "for disciplinary reasons". AND one article that took me to page 44 of this thread.

In recap, of the 15 articles on the 1st 2 pages only the 1 day suspension & 2nd half benching articles mentioned anything negative about him. All the rest were personnel opinion, nothing concrete.
