If we get shafted TWICE by the Heat...im gonna be really really pissed. Just retire already Pat Riley....
If my math is right. Miami will not be offering him more than 150k more than us. 2,650,000-2,077,000=573,000 573,000 x.50=286,500 Florida's State Income Tax is around 5.5% 2,650,000 x 5.5%=145,750 286,500-145,750=140,750 I would be shocked if he chooses Miami over contending for a championship with his best friend for 140k
Because some of his new teams salary is deducted from what Detroit owes, the difference between Houston's bi-annual exception and Miami's injury exception is around 300k. That's not a lot when he will be paid over $15m total for the year. Houston should still be the favorite.
Do you guys (and girls) think McHale put Dorsey in tonight's game as a little showcase for for other teams, like we did with Troy before the Brewer trade? Maybe Morey gave the directive to McHale to play Dorsey so he can get a trade for him instead of waiving Dorsey's guaranteed contract? I can see some team offering a Euro prospect from the 2004 draft that will never play in the NBA for Dorsey.
Smith would be so dumb to go to the heat. The best way to become relevant again is to be on a winning roster, and to have the entire team and coaching staff rave about your work ethic. Come to Htown, start, and get your career back together
If he goes to Miami so what? It's not going to make them a contender, I think at this point Riley just wants to make a team good enough to beat the Cavs should they see them in the playoffs so he can be smug about it. Him going there doesn't hurt us too much.
I was hoping to post on page 1000 of this thread.... (checks).... D@NG! I would like to see the ROX sign J-Smoove (Josh Smith) for BAE Then at trade deadline... HOU in: Dragic (PHO) + F/C Kyle O'Quinn (ORL) PHO in: NOP 1st (via HOU) + Mo Harkless (ORL) + G Alexey Shved (HOU) + G Isaiah Canaan (HOU) ORL in: F/C Joey Dorsey (HOU) + F/C Anthony Tolliver (PHO) + PHO 2nd + MIL/DEN 2nd (via HOU) Headed into playoffs that would be a deep & talented ROX roster that can hit you with a variety of line-ups / styles Dragic // Beverley // Johnson Harden // Terry // Ray Allen (signed as a vet) Ariza // Brewer // Papa J. Smith // D-Mo // T. Jones (if still injured, move Black to PF & sign Emeka Okafor a)t C Howard // O'Quinn // Black
"Damn good" might be a bit much, but definitely serviceable. Far better than the first 10 or so games of the season.
