But not "best man" close. Smith and D-Mo would give Rockets suffocating defense at PF all game long. So trading D-Mo for Dragic is not just a bad mistake (D-Mo can back up Dwight (and PF) w/out losing offense OR defense), it is very premature. If JSmooth is brought in, trade TJ or even Capela instead.
it was a joke ... i said Dorsey would land the better punch in a fight ... and Cappella is a very long term prospect ..
Yes it would. And DEEP, finally. Howard/D-Mo/Black (or Dorsey) Smith/D-Mo/Pap Ariza/Brewer/Pap Harden/Shved/Nick Bev/Canaan/Terry 9-10 man rotation, heavy D, nice mix of vets and youth. And the team is built to RUN as well as SHOOT. There will be a low post threat and shot blocker at all times. TJ does not have to rush back, heal 100%. Imagine if Rockets added another piece like Brandan Wright too???
Bring in Smith and trade Jones and a first round pick (even the NO pick) for Dragic. You'd have a championship caliber team with the mix of offense and stellar defense. It's what I'd do.
The problem is I doubt anyone wants TJones. If he had been playing maybe, but his injury is so weird that it probably tanks his value. I think you'd need to give up DMo for a Dragic package.
Meh - see if you can get Dragic for 'talent' in Canaan and Capella and the NOP pick. We wouldn't need Canaan if we got Dragic, and we'd be very deep in the frontcourt if Jones got back on the court.
If you wanted to get rid of Capella (not that I think they would), he would still have trade value at this point. At least a second rounder, maybe 2.
Huh? Is this a thing or did you just randomly throw his name in the mix. I haven't heard of a scenario where Boston is already ready to give up on the only decent young player they got in return for their former all star.
looking at their roster, they will have to trade someoneā¦.way too many players deserving minutes on that team
I think everyone just assumed they would move Wright. They'd trying to lose and have no need for an OK 7-year veteran who's going to leave at the end of the year anyway.
Is it wrong to just want wright to troll cubes? I'd give a little extra in trade just for that alone....
It has been mentioned by Boston media and most analysts that Wright could be moved again for more picks/pieces.
One thing about Morey is that even when he really wants a player, he is still gonna drive a hard bargain and not pay more than what is absolutely necessary. On the Harden deal, Morey traded quite a lot, but he also didn't give up the farm-- Kept young prospects DMo, Jones and Royce White (yeah, I know).
