lol The disconnect is not seeing how he can be used properly. And at 2 million a year if he doesn't work out you bench or release him. Defensively we are top in the league with him. He snatches a ton of rebounds and with this team that means lots of points.
I think it's funny some people don't want to gamble on Smith, I mean come on... do you really think the current Rockets are going far in the Western Conference?? Probably 2nd round at best... At least if this doesn't work out we didn't sign him to some crazy contract and Detroit foots the bill.
ol Most here wanted a cancer named Rondo with no problems. We are in the western conference and Smith can bang with these big bad ass PF that kill us.
Smith has been "Ariza on the Rockets in 2009" for his entire career. A situation where he was arguably the best player. H&H are clearly the franchise cornerstones on this team so he'll come in knowing the role he will play.
Interesting Stat: LaMarcus Aldridge just shot 38% this year against the Pistons and shot 44.7% against the Rockets last year. Pistons ran JS versus LA most games and he did keep Aldridge below his career averages and certainly better than we are defending him. It is an upgrade as long as the coaches and Rockets stars can make sure JS's shot selection is good.
Dragic/Beverly Harden/Brewer Ariza/KPap Smith/D-Mo or Jones Howard/maybe try to sign Okafor or O'Neal i approve!!
Repeating something: Josh Smith takes a ton of 2 point shots from 16+ feet. Something like 25% of total shots. As everybody knows, the Rox are all about cutting out those shots. If Smith eliminates those shots he becomes a whole lot more efficient. Either Smith accepts coaching and looks a whole lot more efficient, or he doesn't and gets cut for not listening to coaches. I'm going to guess the former, thanks to peer pressure from his buddy Dwight. I see no scenario in Houston where they are happy to let him keep on chucking up long two pointers.
smith would be the perfect addition for this team for that price... we would have some solid depth.. i would hesitate to deal for gogi when we have bodies contributing all the way around
Here's another interesting stats, YOU'RE FULL OF ****. Portland only played Detroit once this year. "Most games" LOL. Lamarcus played 35 mins in that game, posting 23pts and 11 rebounds. Josh Smith played 20 mins
