It sounds like we would have him for this year and next. I believe he asked the Rockets (the tweets are somewhere in this thread) if they wanted him for one year or two and they told him it was up to him.
when people see 7 ft tall European power forwards they assume they are good shooters and its hard to convince them they are not... heck when people see white basketball players in general they assume they are good shooters.
Beverly/Dragic/Jet/Canaan Harden/Brewer/Johnson Ariza/kostas Smith/Jones Howard/Donatas/Black That is a roster I cant see losing 4 games out of 7 in a playoff series. No holes and plenty of bench scoring. And if you could keep it together for a couple years we could be looking at a really strong multi-year run.

Lol I said going into free agency that yeah Smith was going to be the worst contract and time time again I said he was overrated. Love that is was right. Just love it But with that said I like and hate the idea of smith on the Rocket. Don't think Jones is coming back anytime soon Just needs to be a one year deal and for very very cheap. Also if the Rockets can get out of it this if he becomes a distraction it would be a great move
If we claim JSmith off waivers for bi-annual for aprox $2mil, start him, and then are able to trade DMo and fillers for Dragic......you've got to be crazy to pass this up!

We've sorely missed Jones' ability to create off the dribble and get garbage buckets. Smith does everything Jones does but much better (besides 3pt shot) and plays much better defense. He's got a decent midrange J and gets buckets around the rim. He'd make this team so much better on both ends (if he buys into our defensive scheme). He just needs to know his role and not shoot too many jumpers.
If only I could name all the potential stars the Rockets have had... fans dream too big for DMO. He's alright.
