Any Suns trade affects Rox alleged pursuit of Goran.

Well, if Morey already has some kind of wink wink deal with Josh Smith. He could ink by late weds/early thursday. In addition, if Morey knows Josh Smith is on his way, he might be inclined to make the Dragic deal happen if its indeed on the table. Idk about the specifics of that or if he's just going to wait till Feb. to reassess the situation.

This. I don't think y'all realize we would probably only have Dragic for half a season, and we would lose DMo. In addition, we don't even know how long Jones will be out. It's not worth it.

Some team has to have $14 M cap to claim him off waiver.

Then you had a minor one. He can barely move that leg - the peroneal nerve is a long nerve and slower/less likely to heal.

Cat - there are so few of these injuries among athletes that nobody can say recovery is definite. In non athletes, recovery is variable, though most eventually recover most of their function.

I doubt they would trade for him without atleast getting an idea that he intends to sign with the team.

Yeah, it was minor. My belief is that he'll be back before playoffs. We can only hope.

Only Philly and it would be incredibly stupid/un-Hinkie to acquire his salary without any incentive. Smith's camp has been clear that he wants to play for a contender. He'll get paid either way.

Take it for what it's worth, but I had someone (who believes this in all honesty but doesn't know specifics) tell me that the neurological report for Jones as of a month ago indicated that his season may be in jeopardy. They just don't know when it will heal. Doesn't mean it won't magically heal, but based on what's been happening and said, it looks like TJones is not in the Rockets plans this season. Which means he's probably toast as trade bait until he actually recovers, whenever that may be. Person who told me was NOT a doctor and did NOT see the report, but got it second hand but had connections.

smith at SF is dumb; his offensive game is inferior to Ariza. And Jones isn't in the equation.

Why would the Rockets probably have Dragic for half a season? The Rockets would have Bird Rights and it would be hard for Dragic to find a more appealing place to play.

You are right, the only way philly takes that contract is if they pick up at least a couple of 1st round picks from Detroit.
