Allowing a terrible player like Josh Smith on the roster is an anti-Morey move, but this is probably just something to make Dwight happy.

Dragic/Harden/Ariza/Beverley should be more than enough shooting.

If dwight is the driving force behind this we need to get it done asap. Simply because we need dwight to be happy dwight.

If Ariza and Harden start shooting better and if Dragic gets up to the 41% he shot last year? Probably. But we don't know if that will happen, and I don't know that it is likely to.

    I'm a smith skeptic...

However, getting Smith at just the BAE when teams like the Mavs and the Clips are giving him serious looks...

We would finally have that stretch 4 that can step out and drain the 3 ball!

No one really knows because in order to answer that you would have had to watch at least a dozen or so Pistons games this year. And I don't think anyone hates himself enough to do that.

We also have Terry and Canaan. I'm not concerned with shooting as much as I would be chemistry.

Possibly, but will that be enough to offset how awful he is on offense?

Going by XRAPM, Josh Smith is consistently rated as being a spectacular defensive player, among the very best.Last season he was still great and to get a defensive weapon like him at this price is an absolute no brainer.

Offense is the question mark. I'm guessing if he comes here he knows his role at the offensive end. He needs to hang around the rim, not shoot.

We need Dragic if we want to contend. Harden is literally the only player on the squad who can create for himself and others (Canaan kind of can but he doesn't get off the bench for whatever reason).

I watch a lot of Pistons games to say that he has lost his athleticism and the only good thing he does on Defense is block a couple shots here and there. He gives up too many times on one on one defense and we would be better off letting Harden guard the post

    DMO/Canaan/Pels pick. That's my gut.

We seemingly have plenty of guys that can finish at or above the rim currently...that being said, we dont have someone that can create and relieve pressure off James to enable the offense. Adding Josh would be nice, and I do believe he has defense left in his tank, but gosh he is terrible as a shooter...

For who? Not for Smith. We're not taking on that contract.

We can use his defensive presence and he is a stretch 4

    NBA records

Youngest player in NBA history to record:

10 blocked shots in a game, Atlanta Hawks at Dallas Mavericks, December 18, 2004 (19 years, 13 days)

500 career blocked shots, Atlanta Hawks vs. New York Knicks, March 3, 2007 (21 years, 88 days) (206 games)

1,000 career blocked shots, Atlanta Hawks at Oklahoma City Thunder, February 2, 2010 (24 years, 59 days) (423 games)
