We have freakin JOEY DORSEY in our rotation. OFCOURSE I'd take Josh Smith. Can he shoot 3's? No. Can he rebound, defend, pass, block shots & attack the basket? Yes. We gotta get this done.

Seems like an odd move despite the rough start to the season. I'm guessing there is more to this story to come.
I would take Smoove under the notion that he signs a weak contract and is benched anytime he takes a 3. He can help a contender. Was very good in Atlanta when he was more of an actual power forward.

I would think so , no one in their right mind would pick him up for the value of his contract .... tho I could see quite a few teams taking a chance on him once he does clear waivers. He could help a few teams with very thin frontlines & come at a value contract for the remainder of the season. Despite his flaws , I wouldn't mind the Rockets kicking the tires at the vet min for the rest of the season , mainly because of the concerns over T.Jones availability. Not much to lose in that scenario. Definitely cant call that Detroit front office cheap after eating $27m in this salary dump.
