Well he's a lot better at shooting the ball....even though he's not very good at it. So there's that.
I love this move. Shved is a big point so he's a much more natural fit in a 2-PG lineup with Beverley/Terry/Canaan. If Morey had ended this first mini-deadline with only Brewer, I'd have been slightly disappointed. But this move makes full use of the TE we got for Lin both in salary and as a fit. I have no idea how good he is as a player, but if Morey has him pegged, he's probably better than we think.
Lowry was younger and stronger which meant greater potential, Shved, in my opinion, has reached his limit, hope that he could step up in an appropriate system.
I just heard Jalen Rose say Rox are the only team in the West without a great point guard. Another chip on Wolverine's shoulder. And here's hoping Shved makes our second.
With Shved being added to this deal. Does this mean we used all of the TPE (Brewer and Shved salary) or close to all of it??
Surely he's talking about playoff teams only. Among the playoff teams, hard to argue otherwise. 1. Golden State - Stephen Curry 2. Memphis - Mike Conley 3. Portland - Damian Lillard 4. Houston - Patrick Beverley 5. LA Clippers - Chris Paul 6. Dallas - Rajon Rondo 7. San Antonio - Tony Parker 8. New Orleans - Jrue Holiday ---------------------- 9. Phoenix - Eric Bledsoe/Goran Dragic/Isaiah Thomas 10. Oklahoma City - Russell Westbrook 11. Sacramento - Darren Collison 12. Denver - Ty Lawson 13. LA Lakers - Jeremy Lin/Ronnie Price 14. Utah - Trey Burke 15. Minnesota - Ricky Rubio
If Shved can play D and shoot corner 3s like Bev, he won't likely be getting traded in 60 days. Warmly welcome Messrs. Brewer and Shved. The more I read about them, the more I like.
A perhaps underlooked aspect of getting Shved's salary. Shved $3.3+Terry $5.8+Papa $4.8 = $14mil Add in $5mil and we can take up to about $19mil. Add Jones and/or Capella and we can take that up to $21mil in salary matchin. Not that the Rockets need to go that high, but this amount basically covers every single player in the NBA right now except 5 players (one of which in on our team). http://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/players.html I'm not a big DWill fan nor a Bosh fan at his new contract. But getting Shved means Morey can at least look at trading for one if he chooses without using Brewer and his possible player option
Another option is we can trade Shved by himself tomorrow for anyone who makes up to 5 Million. That means Morey could go after Brandon Wright tomorrow if he wanted and as some of the board have suggested.
