    I personally have not called OP racist. I do not know him well enough to make that assessment. Perhaps your conclusion that certain music is not necessarily tied to race would be better directed to OP -- after all, he is the one who suggested the Rockets organization is marginalizing the white people who comprise the bulk of their STH base by playing rap music.

    Two of my best friends in high school (Westfield, north Houston) were Korean. In private, they would call me white bread chicken and i called them the Rice-a-Roni patrol. You know, that certainly goes on among friends, but it has to be OK with that person and, in general, it's just not good to be too loose with race-based ribbing. If it bothers someone, stop. Simple. It's like the Redskins name- you could be a fan all your life, and love the name, but if you find out a group finds it racially offensive, you change it immediately. I mean, Washington already changed Bullets to Wizards (although, personally, I'm more offended by Wizards- I mean, that's what they used to refer to KKK leaders, after all)- so what's one more?

    I mean, if we found out that the name Rockets was somehow racially or otherwise offensive to a group, it would be time to change. We would be the Houston Dribblers or the Houston Sanjacs or the Houston Mooners or something like that.

    The last time I went to the Toyota Center I was paying at a parking machine and this black woman came up behind me and yelled loudly to her friend on the phone "I'm gonna bust these dumbass white people over the head with a frying pan if they don't get out my way." I blame the DJ and RPD.

    You should have just said your piece without all of the caveats and descriptive language. It distracts from your point, which may be valid.

    Though, it does sound like you may be a little out of touch with how mainstream "hip-hop culture" has become.

    OP probably wants all the white people to sit in the lower bowl and all the "colored" people to sit in the upper level. Segregation at it's finest.
