So, Sumlin's game appeals to teenagers and Strong's appeals to the parents. Plus, if you were a top defensive recruit, why would you play for a coach that has shown no proclivity toward that side of the ball in his career?
I don't know, but it's not like Sumlin isn't getting recruits on the defensive side. Might even have the best player in the SEC on defense next year. So whatever he's selling they're buying. UT signs someone and that means TAMU isn't recruiting well on defense? I don't think so, bub.
McNeal wasn't lying, ha. D.Mack decommitted from A&M; says he'll release his top two tomorrow around noon.
You were saying? Mack will be going to Texas. He and Jefferson have been saying for years that they want to play together.
I was saying? LOL, I literally mentioned Mack might be going to Texas like 2 posts ago. I broke the Mack tweet, not even JR was fast enough to (he's a lazy b*stard). You guys cant even carry a civil conversation with an Aggie? Geez. Congrats on Mack if he goes (I'd think LSU has a shot, this guy wanted the SEC in the past). Pretty cool. With that said - Sumlin's class is still terrific regardless of what Texas does. Texas getting people doesn't mean Texas A&M isn't by default. We lost Hoza Scott, Isiah Golden and Claiborne from the defense last year. It is what it is. On a side note, I realize he's a kid and all, but Mack's tweet about revealing his 2 finalists later is ****ing annoying. I Hated Manziel being a douche and I hate this guy being a douche. What a loser.
Sorry. Was on my phone and didn't see the previous post. I guess I'm a little surprised that you think that since Mack was your best commit. Are you really calling an 18 year old kid a loser? ALL of the highly touted recruits do attention grabs like this. Good for them to enjoy it while they can. They work hard and they are going to be way way normal after they enroll in college. Also, you have to be pretty sensitive to think that was an "uncivilized" post.
Great news on recruiting trail today. It's been a long time coming, but I think Strong is gonna start turning the tide a little bit after getting such a late start last year. Although A&M continues to have a great class, this was a big head-to-head recruiting win and snagging Mack would make it even sweeter. I only wish these recruiting battles would translate into head-to-head battles on the field.
Kris Boyd looks like he'll be the next elite commit. One of the top two CBs in the state will announce on Christmas. Flashed the Hook 'Em Horns after winning the state title earlier today.
Grown "men" who really care about where teenagers go to college are some of the most pathetic people I've ever seen or met. That said.....Hook 'em.
If people care about watching teenagers playing football why would it be pathetic if they care where those players go? It's about seeing exciting players do great things on the field. I don't think any class can compare to that circa 2002 class but it's still fun to think about what tools Strong might have at his disposal.
To me, it's turned into too much of an industry: recruiting services and whatnot, grading players out when they're freshmen in HS, seems like people care just as much about who the next recruiting class (or the class after that) will be than they do the actual games on the field. But it's cool, wasn't ragging on you personally or anything.

I'm not sure why everyone is so upset about his choices. He has yet to take an official visit to Texas. If Strong can get him on campus in January, then UT would have a great shot to get him.
