When you factor in age and potential it shouldn't even be a discussion.

jordan hill didn't blossom until he left the rockets. His off rebound efficiency is where the value is.

Haha, Cyber I'm just having fun with you and I know the scout believes that to be true and the scout isn't just Mitch, and I know the stats but honestly I haven't watched many Lakers games this season, so I can't comment on Jordan's progression. His issue here was always his motor and BBIQ, never his skills.

I'm not sure how many Rockets games you or this scout have watched this season but DMo looks incredible, he's moving to the right spots on defense, not getting bullied in the paint, he moves quickly on offense and his stats are starting to match with this too. I would rather have DMo as my starting 4 than Jones (even when healthy) and I think Jones, when healthy, has a lot of value around the league.

Well right off the top anyone could see that DMo was taller (legit 7 footer compared to 6'10) and younger (24 compared to 27) along with being the significantly better defender. Jordan Hill is the better rebounder and he's finishing better at the rim, but he doesn't have the post arsenal and range that DMo brings.

I guess it just depends on what you are looking for and how much your team cares about defense.

    Of course. It's Marc Stein.

"Undeniable edge" LOL. Why? Has he talked to O'Neal himself?

Cyber is it more likely something happens today (on Morey's deadline) or no?

It seems like nothing is going to happen. No reason for t wolves to give him up early if they are not getting what they want. And if dragic was getting traded, it wouldn't make sense they do it earlier than the deadline date.

He had many personal issues while he was in HOU, including that domestic abuse charge. Being traded to LAL probably matured him a lot.

Research would show that Jordan Hill is a career 7ppg scorer grabbing 6 total rebounds per game, with less than 1 assist, and less than 1 block. He's also played 284 total games in his 8 year career.

Motiejunas on the other hand - 7 points per game, 4 total rebounds, less than 1 assist and less than 1 block... in his 3 year career.

Their numbers are surprisingly similar through year 3, only Motiejunas is trending upward, and Hill has plateaued.

I misread Rondo's value throughout the league. I do believe he will be great in Dallas.

I will take a 1st from anyone for Wright.

Last time i checked Dmo is averaging 16 and 7 since Dwight got hurt and is 3 years younger than Hill. I love Hill. I think he's a great rebounder. But DMo is a legit 7 footer and a very talented post player. Dmo clearly has a higher ceiling than Hill.

You guys need to get over the Stein hate. Yes he is a Dallas homer, but he is a pretty reliable source.

JO lives in Dallas, the Mavericks are good. I'm sure they are the favorites.

I try not to be a homer around here, but I just don't see how objectively Jordan Hill is more valuable than DMo. And I've watched plenty of both of these guys both this year and in years past.

Jordan Hill is a pretty subpar defender. He hustles but lacks the length, strength and most of all the instincts to really be any good at it. DMo is already far better at this, helping to keep the Rockets' defense good even while Dwight was out. He knows and gets to where he needs to be.

DMo also has more offensive skills-- from slick post moves to passing to 3 point shots-- than Jordan Hill does. Hill is great at offensive rebounds and can hit some midrange Js this year but that's all he can do. The younger DMo also has more potential for growth.

It takes most bigs a while to get settled in to the NBA. (Wish someone had told AD that...:( )

I have no trouble believing this to be true. Hill is a more known commodity at this point and Dmo has only been good for a stretch of 10-15 games. Going to market now with dmo wouldn't yield what most here believe DMo is capable of.

Does cf overrate dmo? Probably, but no other fan base will know more about him than we do so we will tend to extend his current value because of what we believe he can be. And I think most believe he's not far away from being a better player than Hill.

That plus the fact that dmo's skill set is far more rare than Hills.
