Rondo can't shoot whatsoever, and his free throw is so bad (11-33 this season) that he doesn't dare to drive to the basket and get fouled anymore. So one only has to guard his floaters along the edge of the lane, literally. And imagine how hilarious it would be when teams apply "hack-a-rondo" to Dallas' star PG?
There is an upside for Dallas, though: it will boost Parsons' self-esteem when he sees how much better he is than a four-time All-Star.

Wow they gave up a ton for someone who cant hit a jump shot, free throw, 3 pointer and is like 50% in the paint.... I'll take pat playing beside harden and Howard any day than that.

    This.

Anyone who thinks this vaulted them into contender status is probably the same genius group that thought they were contender status before the season started and the media was falling all over themselves to crown them as a top 3 team.

The move may have helped slightly, but just doesn't seem significant when you factor in the rotation players they gave up that were actually playing really well.

Last 8 years doesnt have anything to do with how he's playing now. Also, Rondo lead offenses have been near the bottom of the league. Lets see if he can still play at an allstar level first, I mean the dude is shooting career lows in FG and FT % and his defense has always been overrated.

    Meh.

They got rid of a decent shooter in Nelson, one of the best back up bigs in Wright for a high usage non shooting PG.

Parsons is now 4th option LMAO

    Well it could.

They have no rotation pieces, what is even on their bench now?

These things do not always work out.

Best case scenario for us, Rondo and Ellis clash and Rondo bolts ASAP.

They will have a lot of chemistry things to work through.

Exactly. You have rondo as your facilitator and you are locked into a slow, anti-analytic type offense.

This move is straight up terrible.

On a bright note, Boston is going to be real good soon. Kelly Olynk, to me, is a star in the making. He has a chance to be the next Marc Gasol. Pair him with Marcus Smart and that is a devastating combination.

People are sleeping on Kelly Olynk right now. But his numbers are off the charts.

Wonder if Jameer wishes he came to the Rockets now... I'm sorry they only thing Rondo has going for him in Dallas is having Rick C as a coach.

I don't think he's going to mind the move actually. Boston has talent everywhere on that team. They raped the mavs in this deal in my opinion.

He's old, he should have come to the Rockets to have a chance at a chip... I think we could have used him with our type of game.. Have fun losing in the east.. I'll take Pat Bev over both.

You're in denial if you don't think this is a great trade for dallas. Rondo is going to make this team very, very good like tyson chandler did. Parsons and Ellis are their weak points - and Ellis has been getting very good. Parsons is still the same fluffer who puts up numbers against bad teams and exposed against good ones. All these wc teams blow us out of the water if Harden isn't playing. We're lucky to have a healthy James.

Makes you want Pap back as the other playmaker soon... Pap can be a 6'8 version of Rondo... It is possible.

So at the end of games you want the ball in the hands of someone who players will lag off of because he can't score on the court or line?
