Thank God we have Harden. But what really scares me is our lack of bench and injuries to Howard/etc. If Dallas is hanging a banner next Oct. Because of Rondo idk if I'll cry or laugh my pain away lol I hateeeeee Dallas.
i think we'll see rondo's numbers creep back toward his career averages. great pick up by dallas. kind of strange considering boston is only .5 games out of the 8th seed. would love to see a trade for Brandon Wright and Corey Brewer. Keep NO's draft pick, and sign Dragic and Beverley in the offseason. I would trade for Dragic, but I don't see PHX trading him unless they really tank out.
3 notes I take from this: 1) Dallas have an unreal starting 5 and no bench. They definitely got better and are contenders now if they weren't before 2) I'm not mad we didn't get him, but if Morey was actually trying to get him how were we not able to beat the Mavs' offer? NOP pick?? 3) Brandan Wright is a stud and he has now become my top preference for our TPE. Do the Celts wanna keep him?
I don't know why people keep saying we lack a bench. That's just ignorance. We have a deep, quality bench, it just happens to be injured. None of those injuries save to T-Jones is serious however and those players are eventually coming back. Howard's knee as explained in the other thread should eventually be OK again. Hell he looks damn good right now. I doubt Mavs are going to win as they are still not good defensively IMO and what would you propose as an alternative, us getting Rondo? That's far worse than just letting the Mav's get him. I would hate for us to lose promising players and picks for a guy that doesn't fit our team in any way, shape, or form.
You know a game is 48 minutes long right? And there are back to back games too Can you list here how Dallas depth chart will look like after this trade?
He wasn't but I made that post years ago in NBA time. Doesn't mean we didn't try to get him. I wouldn't know. I didn't ask and even if I had he probably wouldn't have told me. I know he's been working the phones but any of you could have guessed that. He's always working the phones. We talk a lot more about the guys we have than the guys we don't.
This. The Rockets team system is predicated upon guards and forwards capable of shooting 3's. This is one of the main reasons Nick Johnson has looked bad for us because if he was a capable shooter he would 100% better. Dallas might get better with Rondo, but he did not fit our needs. Trust Morey on this because if he wanted Rondon, he would have been here already.
Don't worry. Now focus back on Brewer. Should be done soon. Was gonna happen until Ainge wasted Moreys time

i agree that ariza has been a way better fit than parsons. im more talking about how cuban swept the rug out from under us just in spite of morey. parsons may not be worth that contract but he is a damn good player. however, morey could've just been driving the price up on rondo to screw cuban in his own way.. who knows??
