Lots of people say no. Lots of people say yes.

If Rondo was even a respectable shooter I'd be all for him. If he could even shoot like Rafer Alston I'd be for him.

The Rondo that can't even hit 50% of his free throws? That has shown a drop in his average at the rim? That is coming off major surgery and hasn't regained his form?

    No thanks.

I wouldn't rule Morey seeing Rondo as a trade chip for the Feb. deadline either. That and being able to **** block Mark Cuban.

If the argument is who keeps Harden fresher/helps him in the playoffs, the answer is Goran Dragic>Rondo. Dribbling the ball isn't the hard part - it's the creating opportunities for teammates part that gives Dragic the edge in fit for this roster.

The one thing we should have learned with the Ariza signing is it's not just about who's the better player, but rather who the better fit is to address team weaknesses. For those who remember last year's playoff series, the glaring problem with this roster was there was no one else to create for the offense when Harden was being triple teamed. Dragic gives them another creative offensive player on the court who can hit open shots, and also drive and make good decisions with the ball when the defense rotates his way. In last year's playoffs, Harden had to pass it to one of our perimeter players who then didn't know how to punish the defense consistently for the times when they loaded up on Harden. As good as Rondo is(and he's a force), he doesn't specifically address any team weakness - he's just a better version of Bev(with less of a jump shot).

I actually thought about this as well. Guess it just depends on how he meshed and what he could get for RR.

Ya, but then you are at Rondo's mercy for whether he will resign with the next team. His agent won't get him to Houston, immediately sign a contract extension, and risk Morey being able to immediately trade him away later in the season. That's part of the leverage Rondo has right now and he isn't going to give that up.

Morey should get Rondo and then flip him for Dirk come Feb. Will set us up nicely for the playoffs.

Uh, what leverage? Morey wouldn't even offer Rondo a contract. Rondo would be a giant trade ship in February for a team desperate to add him for a playoff run.

We aren't desperate for Rondo. Dallas is.

So Rondo for NOP first a second and a player or two?
Then get Brewer with the TPE and a second?

I just don't want to have to trade Dmo

Morey will get Rondo if he thinks it'll improve the team.

He doesn't give a damn about upstaging Cuban.

Capela and the NOLA first for Rondo? Those in a couple of second round picks?

    No way we trade Dmo.

I think DMo has played himself off of Morey's trade block, unless he just got an absolute steal.

Watch Morey not even be interested in Rondo, just acting in cahoots with Boston to make Dallas give up more.

All Rajon Rondo has going for him is his name at this point. We already have point guard who defends in Pat Beverly. Not like Rondo is a great 3 point shooter. I dont think Rondo, Harden, Howard will make the team chemistry better. We should try and get a backup Power Forward or a backup center.
