If the Mavs give up Ellis for Rondo they are toast for years to come.

    Top what?

I never said that the Mavs actually WERE trading "all of their picks" or anything. I was only implying that the Mavs were in a position to be able to trade multiple first rounders (in alternating years) and/or swap rights as part of a Rondo trade package.

Also, the Wright/Harris combo is not the only package of players that could be traded for Rondo while creating a new $13M TPE for the Celtics. The Rockets could offer a package that would accomplish the same objective using multiple young guys.

I dont understand this Rondo hate. People even now double off their guy on Harden at certain situations. Sure people are more than likely to leave Rondo open on any switch...but Rondo is terrific around the rim, and creates excellent opportunities for every player on the team. Having Rondo create for Harden would be amazing. Harden has to work soooo hard creating a shot for himself and those around him. A player like Rondo immediately allows Harden to focus on making shots exclusively, and playing defense. Rondo also is a terrific floor manager, and directs the traffic well. Rondo puts this current team on a championship run. I just dont want to lose a player like DMo to get it done though. Unfortunately, that is probably what it will take.

Am I the only one whop REALLY wants to swoop in and steal Wright? He would be an incredible back-up C and he would allow Dwight to get some rest.

I think Rondo would ruin our lockerroom and chemistry tbh...Mavs can have him, doesn't change the fact that they have no interior or perimeter defense outside of Aminu and Tyson Chandler.

Yes, players double Harden now which is a key part of our offense. They double Harden and they pay for it at a respectable clip when a guy like Bev or Ariza hits a 3.

Doubling off Rondo to take out Harden would leave you with no real punishment. And then if he does get the ball going to the basket you just foul him and let him miss at a rate worse than Dwight Howard. :(

Like I said, imagine Joey Dorsey playing PG. That's Rondo.

    lol

You are right but to do it he has to start and have the ball in his hands. Rondo is not coming off the bench with the 2nd unit to spell Harden.

I can't wait to see Ellis and Rondo argue with each other over the ball. Moving Monte to the SG will spell the end of the Mavs.

Rondo is Jeremy Lin on Steriods with better passing and that's a great NBA a player but he just doesn't fit with this team. He has to have the ball to create.

his shot has been a knock his whole career, yet he still became an elite player in the NBA with a ring. he can't shoot yet he's a huge difference maker. whether or not the rockets get Rondo or not, I'd welcome him in Houston.

I'd welcome him to if we didn't have Harden.

    LOL

That's a crazy statement. Rondo averages almost 11 assists per game, FIRST in the league.

either way I don't think rondo is as bad of a fit as some think. playoff time is probably where rondo would show his value. he would help tremendously.

I just think Dragic is a better fit for this team

We know that Harden needs to ball a lot, and we already have a real good defender in Bev

Rondo/Howard would be a big step up, that combo would flourish

Getting Brewer and eventually Dragic is better than giving up a lot of assets for Rondo

No way in hell they do that. Cuban isn't a dummy. Ellis is on a great deal and he is in a situation where he doesn't have to be a chucker. If Boston were to pick him up, he would devolve back into a chucker. That sort of deal is good for no one.

But how did he fit with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rey Allen?

Generally team fit is overrated when you have the option to upgrade your talent level. Rondo is a superior talent. If he ends up on the team, there will be a substantial improvement overall. He's better than Donatas, but Dontas is at an All Star level now and he's 7 foot. So we want to keep that too.
