Rondo is a great player. He could definitely be our 3rd star. Leads the league in assists, makes the game easier for everyone, superb defender.

The only risk is his injuries. That's a big risk. If Morey wants him then he will obviously take that into account.

All this Dallas-can-have-him talk is lunacy. We don't want Dallas to get better and they'd definitely get better with Rondo.

If he gets traded to someone other than Hou then please let it be NYC. I don't want the Lakers or Mavs getting near him.

So, basically Rondo and Harden are redundant players who will lower their own effectiveness from being on the floor together.

Harden is the play-caller here in Houston right now, we don't need two of them. Rondo needs to go to a team that lacks an assist man and leader. We already have those bases covered, it makes no sense to bring him here.

Rondo, when healthy, is a great player. He is a real true point guard but his style of play just simply doesn't fit in my opinion. Harden is our playmaker and he has been doing a damn good job with that all season. It doesn't seem to make sense to me. If we were to get a PG, I would rather have dragic.

lol almost no shot he comes here. Bev is the perfect low cost PG for this team and Rondo's usage rate is about as nonexistent as Bev's is with Harden carrying the load on offense and with DMo/Howard's post ups and P&R. It's unclear if Rondo is even a better rebounder or defender than Bev at this point. Not saying Bev>Rondo but for the value and for the Rockets I think it is highly unlikely Morey elects to pull this off unless he has something planned that none of us see.

The Mavs would be lethal with Rondo though... If they end up getting him, we really need to make a significant move because the West is only getting harder.

Now, Dragic playing 32 MPG as PG/SG (6th man?) and Bev 24 MPG.. *drools*

    Not scared, at all.

Once we get Jones and K-Pap back, this team will blow up. Think about how well we've done with Dwight, Jones, Bev, Canaan, K-Pap out of the lineup?

The NBA is not ready for this team.

Disagree because Rondo has always been an Eastern Conference player and therefore plays against worse overall competition. Guys that can hold their own in the West are generally more undervalued than EC players.

That's why if he is attainable, Dragic fits perfectly for us

What would we have to give up to land Dragic?

Do you think Dragic is better than the combination of P-Bev/Canaan? I don't.

You do realize we would have to part ways with one of our PG's if we land Dragic, right? Plus, we would likely have to give up picks.

To me, I would choose P-Bev/Canaan over landing Dragic/Rondo. But I frequently use logic when making these kind of decisions, just like Morey does. So, sorry to disappoint you but we won't be landing either.

Are you serious? We have NO ballhandler/playmaker other than Harden. Did you watch Nick Johnson turn it over and not do ANYTHING tonight? We need either Dragic or Rondo at the point and we win championship.

Did you watch any games before IC3 was injured?

He's stepped us his game hard. We have TWO handlers that were/are injured in Canaan/Papa, we need to shore up the backup 4/5 more than the 1.

You're an idiot if you think that.

Harden IS our ball handler, we don't need another one unless you think Rondo or Dragic coming off the bench if a possibility. It isn't.

Harden is the PG/Scorer of this team. He's like Allen Iverson was for Philly when he played there. We don't need a PG here who can distribute, we already have that.

Hmmm, were we NOT going for a third star according to morey? Are we not on win now mode? Are we NOT turnover-prone (19.5/game number 4 in the league) - in my opinion when harden is out of the game? We need a floor commander to take pressure off harden. We already have our stretch 4 in DMO. Dragic is not a great defensive PG but is longer than Bev/canaan. Beverly's intensity will wear him out by end of the season. Any flaw in my logic?

I appologize for the last post it was a little redundant but helped to shore up Ghost akeem's point against my argument.

    Either would be great.

Some of you guys crack me up. You act like having 2 playmakers makes one of them useless. Playmakers make plays for everyone on the court. They would make plays for each other. OMG OMG! Not two smart players! HAAHAH

Put me in the camp of those who don't feel we necessarily need a ball-handler to run with Harden. I think we need a reliable playmaker/handler to run with the second unit so that the offense doesn't fall to pieces when Harden sits -- someone to play the role Lin was supposed to fulfill last season. For a minute there, it looked like Papa could be that guy, but sample size is awfully small.

If we're talking about getting another PG to fill that role, Dragic would get my vote over Rondo 10x out of 10. Enough length to bother opposing PGs on defense, solid playmaker, can shoot and get to the rim, good FT shooter, and none of the personality/chemistry concerns that come part and parcel w/ Rondo. Just my opinion.
