That could also be the case. I find it amusing that people post definitive and my-word-is-the-last-word type of statements when history has told us otherwise.
Chris Mannix @ChrisMannixSI 6m6 minutes ago Rondo has been in a funk lately. Unclear why. Has not shown usual aggressiveness. Been struggling defensively. Could be a factor in all this
youre contradicting yourself a bit imo. You say he'd be third or fourth option and then say we'd rework our entire offense around him. I don't agree with either assertion really. I think that instead of harden initiating the offense most times, you'd have a guy like rondo that could drive and create at times. You'd be able to stagger their minutes so you always have a top tier ball handler/creator on the court. Instead of bev running into the lane and dribbling around back out only to give the ball to harden, rondo could maybe score or hit a guy in scoring position. Maybe you miss out on a few threes a game, but you gain a lot of what we don't have.
In 21 games this season. Rondo's FG% : 39.9, 3pt FG : 24.1% His FG% is a career low. His defensive rating is not impressive at all so far. If the ball will be in Harden's hand, and if he will be double teamed and need to kick out to a shooter, Rondo is probably the last option he want to pass the ball to. Hence, if you want to utilize him, you have to re-work your offense around Rondo. He can penetrate, but he is not a good finisher like Harden, that means the kick out will be different and the outside shooters may not get the same wide open shoots compare to Harden's penetrations. Now, when you will also consider the price of getting him....
It's good thing, probably really busy right now with things heating up. Hope he post something before the first game today.
Haha, good times on Clutchfans. Honestly in all likelihood absolutely nothing will go down before the much anticipated Friday deadline (for the 2nd year in a row) but you gotta love it, lol.
@ChrismannixSI 12-17-14 (Word around the league is that Boston has been making some initial calls on Rondo, not the other way. Team to keep an eye on: Sacramento.) --Danny's a smart man, rondos been in a slump, numbers down on defense & offense, so he's trying to see if that package is still on the table with picks + Ben + filler from kings. --He knows rondo value will go down even more in feb, may not resign, could get hurt etc
(From another perspective) : I'm not the biggest Bev fan, although he has impressed me this season, and even I'm not sure if Rondo would make this team better. Not to mention the risk of losing him in free agency. Not worth going after IMO.
You run the risk of losing Bev to free agency as well. Why not give yourself a better shot of winning it this year?
