You have no idea what you are talking about. It would only bolster the bench and defensive intensity. Yeah he can't shoot, but he doesn't have too with Harden Howard and Dmo. He creates easy shots for his teammates. I'm on board as long as we keep starters. I'd give up Jones,Canaan, and NOP pick.
The whole "He doesn't have to shoot" argument is lame. Someone has to shoot. If Rondo has the ball in his hands and is creating, great, you have Harden as a shooter. Yay. But if Harden has the ball in his hands, Rondo is literally doing nothing for you on the court on offense. There IS value in that, but not max player value in my opinion.
Because i have a different opinion than you i dont knwo what i am talking about? Jeez, what is it with poeple nowadays.
Dwight and Harden's shooting percentage will increase with Ramon Ranjo and will cut turnovers Rockets are only team in the league with a less than 1 assist to turnover ratio
He made a living without having to shoot, he became an all star without having to shoot, he became a NBA champion without having to shoot. So yeah I'll say, he doesn't have to shoot.
He won a title on a team where he was the primary ball handler, creating for other shooters. That isn't what he would be here. Harden is going to be the primary ball handler.
Dwight and Harden would only get better with rondo they wouldn't have as many turnovers and would be shooting easier shots the rockets are the only team in the league with a assist to turnover ratio under 1
not being able to shoot at C can be worked around, at pf it can have its challenges, at the other 3 spots, you're a liability in the 2014 nba
We do not need Rondo, but if we can get him for a cheap, that is another story. Rondo and Howard are likely going to miss lots of free-throws in the 4th q.
Get him for cheap and if he doesnt workout, then good bye. If it works out he handles the ball and Harden doesnt have the burden all game and can save his playmaking for the playoffs.
He's a true pg, isn't that what we want ? then have Bev off the bench, keep the defense solid, I honestly don't know why it would be a problem, Bev wasn't always a shooter and we played fine with him last year.
When I envision Rondo on this team, I see a guy who is best utilized not alongside Harden but as a guy off the bench to help facilitate the offense when Harden is resting (or injured). When Harden sits, our pet plays seem to be a ton of post ups for our bigs, which I think Rondo could facilitate quite nicely. He isn't a guy who needs or wants a ton of shots and would provide fantastic insurance during the long grueling season. If I were the Rockets I would offer Kostas, TJones, Cannan, Capella, Black and the NOP #1 for Rondo and Bass (via the TPE) My lineups/rotations would look similar to this: Beverley (18) / Rondo (30) / Johnson Harden (24) / Beverley (16) / Terry (8) / Daniels Ariza (36) / Harden (12) / Garcia Bass (30) / Motiejunas (18) Howard (36) / Motiejunas (12) / Dorsey
Only problem is that both he and Howard are bad free-throw shooters, then people will go for them during the 4th q. Like another post said, get him for cheap, it does not work out, say bye.
