I also have a hard time seeing Rondo on this team, and it has very little to do with his personality. Even Shaq and Kobe "got along"....because they were winning.

He's not a bad mid-range shooter, but my guess is most of that is off the bounce. I'm curious what he adds off the ball, and afraid the answer is "not much".

You aren't losing Bev in FA unless you want to. You'd only want to because you upgraded at PG. I don't think Rondo is enough of a difference maker to consider him an upgrade.

People saying the offense will take care of itself are wrong in my opinion. Having Bev on the court to hit open 3s is a huge a part of the offense. If you rate his defense an 80 and his offense a 70, Rondo is maybe a 90 and a 40 or 50. It just doesn't balance out in my opinion, but maybe I'm wrong.

But doesn't Rondo give you the ability to run a great offense with the second unit?

Isn't that what the Rockets lack? A secondary ball handler to take pressure off the 40 minute man James Harden.

Harden was spent in the playoffs last year, and a guy like Rondo certainly would have helped in that series.

If Bev isn't hitting his shots, then he only provides good defense against PG's who can still score on good defense.

    Rondo would work well here.

I'll be off the Morey bandwagon if we trade for Rondo and give up multiple rotation peices.

I agree that he is not a perfect fit with Harden, although I feel Harden is improving on playing off the ball. That said he really compliments Ariza whose is far more comfortable on the perimeter than going to the basket. Same goes for P Beverley.

What you just described is Rondo all the time: Bev not hitting his shots but playing better defense.

Nah, I want the Rockets to have a first rounder for next year. Gotta keep that chance of drafting Mario Hezonja alive.

If Morey somehow swung Rondo, I wouldn't be upset at all. It would be an upgrade at point guard. Just saying I think the cost outweighs the returns for a team with Harden as it's main piece.

I was all for a Rondo trade last year because our defense, leadership, and playmaking were all issues. This year, those have been alleviated to a degree, and that makes me re-think things.

Are you saying that Bev can create shots for Harden and co?

If you are, I still haven't seen it.

I love Pat like everyone else, but Rondo presents a playmaker that the Rockets haven't had since?
