I don't want Dragic, I don't think they're trading Dragic, but they are not a fringe playoff team, they have no shot at all, they're already tied with okc who played 16 games without russ or kevin.
Exactly. Like sure, they're good. But look at the west. Houston, Warriors, Clippers, Spurs, Grizzlies, Blazers, Thunder (if healthy) are all locks. That leaves one spot. And I'm 99% sure that 1 spot will go to the Mavs. Suns have a little to none chance of making it into the playoffs. Lottery team. Might as well stockpile lottery picks
Getting much closer to reasonable IMO. I don't know that Charlotte would want to move K-G , but Stephenson for a pick seems like a win to them. Simplified version: Houston gets Dragic into the TPE. Phx gets Stephenson who fits salary wise into the void left by Dragic's $7.5m. They could also generate a TPE in this scenario. Charlotte gets the NO Pick & Troy Daniels (Houston has to open a roster spot) Maybe you can get Charlotte to swap Dorsey for Biyombo in the process.
I have to say I doubt they move him , he's on a rookie scale deal $1,169,880 this season & $2,109,293 the next and then is a restricted FA. Why do you trade a productive player on a rookie scale deal unless you are getting a premium asset in return ?! Teams are going to hang onto these type players as a way to manage the cap .... Unless you are willing to overpay. Right now PHX has a nice (cheap) center rotation with Len & Plumlee ... they move him they create a need. I think you have to look at guys like Dalembert with the Knicks who are firmly in the lottery and in the final year of their contracts. He's just one example of an easy to get player to solidify the bench. players like this can probably be had for a protected 2nd rounder , question is , do you match the salary or use the TPE ? Its possible to get a Dalembert type using only part of the TPE and then turn around and use what's left on a guy like Luke Ridnour from Orlando .... again only giving up low end assets. (again , these aren't the only two guys , just an example of the type of team and player combination I think is most likely to be acquired) Neither of those players I mention are as good as a Goran Dragic but they would definitely be upgrades to the bench for this squad.
Charlotte isn't going to trade MKG. However they have been trying to move Henderson for a while. He's an underrated defender and has shown more willingness to shoot 3s this year.
Houston In: G.Dragic Detroit In: 8m TE T.Daniels 2015 1st Rd Pick (via New Orleans) Phoenix In: G.Monroe
Why would DM make this trade? I know Henson is a good player and we need big men, but you're trading away 2 big men for 2 other big men.
I don't think you need fillers. The Hornets are looking to get rid of Stephenson and know that they're not winning this year. Phoenix has too many point guards and is a fringe playoff team. Rockets have an extra draft pick and could use an upgrade at PG. Why not this: Houston in: Goran Dragic, Miles Plumlee Charlotte in: Phoenix 1st round pick, Isiah Canaan Phoenix in: Lance Stephenson, Houston 1st round pick via NOLA http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=m4t99aj I think that's the right price for all teams involved. But call me crazy. I think we should be going after Kyle Korver.
It's a sound trade but out of your 11 posts 5 of them have been regurgitating this proposal. Slow down bro.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=m4t99aj I think Phoenix would want a post player maybe Capella...Phoenix would probably want Charlotte pic also for taking on Lance
How much are you giving Phoenix in this scenario? Stephenson, Capella, AND two first rounders? Thats wayyy to much. I think Stephenson and the NOLA pick is more than enough for Dragic and Plumlee. If they want Capela, I would include him instead of the NOLA pick.
In a lot of these trade proposals, Clint Capela's name is tossed in as filler or near-filler. This was D-Mo's "position" in trades in year's prior, but now look at him. I feel about Capela the same way as I did about D-Mo. With big men who have length, athleticism and tools, the Rockets should keep them in the 12th to 15th slots for development. These kinds of big men don't come into our hands that often. So, please, let's not let them slip through our fingers (or thumbs ).
Four-team trade involving the Rockets/Suns/Celtics/Lakers... Rockets get: Jeff Green(BOS), Goran Dragic(PHX), and Ed Davis(LAL) Suns get: Jason Terry and Clint Capela(HOU), Julius Randle(LAL), and HOU 1st rounder from LAL Celtics get: Kostas Papanikolau and Terrance Jones(HOU), Jeremy Lin(LAL), Archie Goodwin(PHX), and NOP 1st rounder from HOU and a second rounder from PHX Lakers get: Rajon Rondo(BOS) Rockets' rotation: Dragic/Beverley/Canaan/Johnson Harden/Green/Daniels/Johnson Ariza/Green D-Mo/Davis/Black Howard/Black/Dorsey IMO this will give the Rockets the best perimeter defense in the league. When the playoffs start, Golden State and OKC wouldn't stand a chance against us. Teams like LAC, DAL, SA, and POR, won't be able to produce from the outside and would need to completely rely on guys like Blake Griffin, Dirk, Duncan, and Aldridge to dominate inside. The only team on paper I think the Rockets would still have a little trouble against would be MEM, because the Grizzlies are one of the few teams that don't rely on outside shooting. Yes I understand we still would have a weak defensive low post aside from Howard, but we would be able to rotate D-Mo, Davis, Black, and Dorsey to stop an Aldridge-type player for the whole game.
4 Team trade (unlikely - but it's random!) Houston gets Dragic Singler Phoenix gets Munroe Canaan Detroit gets Stephenson Daniels Charlotte Papanikolaou Warren pick/s (2nds or whatever) The 'whys': Phoenix gets a legitimate center, and fixes their logjam at PG by getting something in return. Canaan is insurance (or could be switched to another minimum salary guy) Detroit gets out of their 'situaton' with Munroe by getting a 'piece' in return. Their roster is short on high end talent, and needs someone who can fit in. Daniels is for salary matching purposes, but is an intriguing shooter for them. Charlotte escapes the mess that Stephenson has been for them. Bring in a defensive minded 3 in KPap, who can also create in the half court. They also bring in a potential scorer in Warren (something they need) - and possibly a 2nd rounder. Houston, well, the reward is obvious. Significant upgrade at PG without giving up much of anything. Singler is for salary matching purposes, but the boy can shoot at the 3/4 spot (although defence isn't something he knows much about - think a taller Troy Daniels). Following that: Houston uses TPE to bring in Brewer (to play Papa's minutes) - send out the 'other' pick we got from the Terry deal!
