So, no facts just 'reporting'. Ah, therein lies info fallacy. Whose reports do we trust? Woj. Berman. Def Clutch. And...? Trying to get a handle on Harrington's stats since joining Rox recently...
1. If you going to choose 3 more players to finish a close game let's say vs GS with harden and Dwight, who will they be? 2. You consider brewer as an elite finisher at the rim?
Brewer went off for 50 on us (bad bad bad defense that day...) , but I still don't understand the infatuation the FO has for him. Maybe they have him in a perfect slasher role that can really bolster our bench production.
Brewer is an asset, because there are teams out there wants him, other than the Rockets. Just because you have a TE in this case, it means jack, because the T-wolves will want something in return, they are not looking to dump salary. As I mentioned, the T-wolves are having too much injuries and they will not let go of an asset for a very low second round pick at this point of the season.
Plus since tjones and pap will be contributing mins at the 4, dmo can play some 5 Which goes back to the question, is tjones playing this year and if he is, when
Brewer is a horrible 3 point shooter, and even worse than Papa in his current form. He is too slim and can't defend the 4 which you can use Papa in some situation. Getting him to play spare minutes I can understand, but getting him to play 20 minutes and basically cut into most of Papa's minutes, that's not something I can imagine Morey will do.
Nope. View it like a player (Chris Paul for example) dribbles it really high while talking to his coach or other players and takes two, three steps then takes control of the ball again and continues to dribble down the court. Brewer did the same thing, dribble it high gathered and took three or four steps without having control of the ball, caught it and took two steps to the basket.
I want to know - what is Phoenix doing right now? I can't imagine the offers for Dragic will get any sweeter. I don't think they are going to be able to resign him and they are nearing the point of letting him walk for nothing. Isn't a guy like Canaan a pretty good haul for team with no leverage and only a few more months left before Dragic opts out for a payday? Does Phoenix think they are going to resign him and pray the luxury tax line increases with the new TV deal? Does Phoenix think that they have a chance to pick up more value by some desperate team offering more at the trade deadline? I would think recent history would suggest that's a long shot but who knows...
1. On this current roster...GS is most likely going small....so I'm plugging Harden in on Green, Ariza on Klay, Bev on Curry, Dwight obviously, and then we'll need a defender on Barnes...probably Kostas at this point. 2. Brewer is an elite transition player, both ways. He's a great chase-down transition defender. Which is something we haven't really discussed about him but something we need because we do turn the ball over so much. In half-court defense he's a great guy for pressure, overplay, steals, and forcing the opponent into mistakes by speeding them up more than they want to be sped up. Because of his elite speed, his elite length, and his elite athleticism Corey is an elite transition finisher. That may be different from being an elite finisher. Since I'm not evaluating him as a half-court offensive player. He is NOT GOOD in a half-court set offense. NOT GOOD at all. But we would not bring in Brewer to do things he is not good at. You bring in a guy like Brewer because you want his skill set strengths. Since we know Morey is highly interested in acquiring Brewer you have to look at his skill set strengths and figure out the puzzle. It should be obvious. Morey wants to kick this team into overdrive. 48 minutes of defensive pressure. Long, athletic defenders that turn the opponent over and force bad shots and guys that can leak out with speed and bury it at the rim or spot up at the arc and splash down 3-balls. That is who we are.
They'd likely be asking for Jones or something significant in return though. Don't know if Brewer is worth it.
