Why do you have to choose? If anything, Brewer will be acquired through the TPE, meaning we would still have Papa and Terry.
...hence the infinite references to our using the TPE to execute a trade. Terry and KPap aren't being traded for Brewer.
Agree, I`m in with the brewer trade but only if we do not surrender any rotation player. Any other thing we are overpaying. Wes Mathews would be good too, good defense plus the 3pt shooting Brewer does not have, BUT, we are talking about 2 very differente price points.
Obviously some sort of move is going to happen. We need a a high dollar outgoing salary. The TPE has to stand alone. Better to get a player now. Warmly welcome Brewer.
Here's the vision: Goran (or Rondo or still a longshot Rubio), Bev, Harden, Ariza, Brewer all overplaying defensively, scrambling everything off the 3-point line forcing the opponent to take long 2's or take it inside where they get a chance to meet up with Dwight. A move for Brewer is all about forcing more turnovers, blocked shots, and bad shots from the opponent so we can run and gun the other way. On the break you've got Brewer going to the rim and Ariza running to the 3-point line. The ultimate transition spacing for Harden or other second playmaker to decide what they want to do. Elite finisher at the rim. Elite shooters at the 3-point line, maximize run-outs, minimize setting up and going to Dwight in the low blocks. It's really pretty simple. We simply aren't going to out half-court teams like the Spurs, Griz, and Bulls. Gotta outgun them by ratcheting up the pressure and pace. Corey Brewer will be a great fit here.
Paul Coro @paulcoro 36s36 seconds ago Goran Dragic went through a full shootaround today and is probable to play in tonight's #SunsAtHornets. He missed 2 games for a back strain.
I'm not heartbroken - Dragic would be great but only if the price is right. Bev has been great, Canaan as well, so giving up a king's ransom for marginal returns with a player who needs the ball to be effective isn't the best scenario
The Rockets are not getting Brewer. The Cavs wants Brewer more as he could be a bigger upgrade than Marion in their starting lineup. In facts, reports showing the Cavs asked for Brewer and the T-wolves shut it down because they have some many injuries now. Given the Rockets will not offer anything great for Brewer ( I seriously doubt Morey will use the NOP pick on him) nor doing a 1 for 1 with Papa for Brewer. I think the chance of getting Brewer is very slim.
I think most of the people that have been here longer than I have, can agree with the fact that jtr should be thanking the stars (clutch) that he hasn't gotten IP banned by now. Back in the TOF vs YOF days, everybody was on an extremely short leash where after 2 time-outs, you were gone for good. jtr has probably exceeded that 10x by now..
Which is GM speak for "give us a better deal and we'll think about it". The Rockets can absorb Brewer's contract with the TPE and dangle a 2nd Rounder for him What is Cleveland going to offer to the Wolves that won't take up a roster spot or salary cap space? Flip Saunders know this is a rebuilding year for the Wolves and is just biding time to get a deal he likes.
