I'm pretty sure Melo was going to get the max, 4yr 88 mil..and you don't believe that if Melo said, I choose Houston, Rockets management would just roll over and say, 'Sorry, we have no interest in signing you. We just put up a picture of you in our jersey holding up a trophy.' That sounds totally like a courtesy visit. Because you hear teams who have no interest in signing players purposefully blow up a player's photo with a team jersey for fun. Yeah, I'm not buying it. Just like you couldn't predict the Harden trade like the rest of us, you don't know **** about what Morey will and will not do this year. So quit acting smug, because you don't know **** man. Anything can happen. Morey is never content with the roster, because like I said yesterday, we still have some problems. We have room for improvement, so step off your high horse. You don't know ****.
The only way I can see Goran fitting with the Rockets is if he takes up a bench role and becomes our super-sub a la Manu Ginobili or OKC James Harden. Right now, I can't see the Rockets putting Beverley on the bench, especially since the bench is the group that needs a creator. And Beverley fits best with James Harden, in my opinion because of his three point shooting and elite defense. It would have to work like this: Beverley - 28 minutes / Dragic - 20 minutes Harden - 36 minutes / Dragic - 12 minutes Would Goran accept a Manu-esque role? Our second unit definitely needs direction on offense and James cannot carry the load of the offense for the whole season. Goran would play starters minutes and more than Beverley, too. If he can accept that role, it's just scary what we can do..
It defies logic that a team would take a chance on creating this kind of PR crapstorm. Utterly ridiculous.
This guy is spitting out stuff we already know about, but I will say... If Morey is able to get Dragic for a Pels 1st/Canaan/fodder I would be ecstatic.
And jtr was saying earlier that he only looks at facts and not any speculation. Yet it takes an enormous amount of speculation to think that the Rockets meeting with Carmelo was a big charade just for fun.
Ah, but I do know explicitly that the Rockets never ever made a contract offer to Melo. And what do you actually know? Absolutely nothing evidently.
Is a courtesy visit so hard to grasp? Did the Rockets extend a contract offer to Melo? Definitely not. You can look it up.
I'm not saying I know anything. I accept that. Like Klutch said, you are being really condescending and smug about Morey not biting on a deal for Brewer or even tinkering the roster a little bit. So again I claim, you don't know anything. Stop saying definitively that we're not getting Brewer or anyone else. Your credence is baffling, and for you to go against a proven insider like cyberx, or the most credible NBA reporter, Woj, is really foolish. Stop it man. Quit embarrassing yourself.
I really don't think that it was just a courtesy visit, but I'm glad nothing came of it. I think they wanted to gauge his interest in making a "big 3" and I'm glad he chose to go with the biggest payday instead.
Management will meet with "potential" recruits just to maintain civility. The rubber meets the road when a contract offer is made. Not before. "My insufferable condescension"? Or is it that I just interject reality into your fantasies? If there is no contract offer then your perception of interest is just your own personal reality. Do not try to interject it upon others.
That aqs18 dude has an unhealthy obsession with drew. I sometimes wonder if he has a job because he's on twitter nonstop.
I'm not saying it's not possible. I'm saying that you don't know. For somebody who claims to only listen to facts, you take it upon yourself to act like you know for a fact what the Rockets' front office is thinking.
