Seems to me that there's already a deal in place. Rockets just trying to see if they can get something better.

I thought our chasing-after of players who'd demolished our team (Glen Rice, et al) had gone away with the Carroll Dawson era.

Nothing against Corey Brewer, but I'd rather get someone with some handles.

I mean, what?, we trade Brewer when he doesn't manage to score 51 for us?

Brewer isn't as good defensivelt as Ariza but at least he could reduce his minutes

Morey has said it many times before: the players are held to a standard where if they are not working on their games as much as possible, then they are criticized. He sees no reason why the front office should be any different. In the end the best move indeed may be to stand pat, but you at least need to do your homework to reach that conclusion.

Everytime I try to use them, they reject based on the "under $9.8M, so 150% + $100K" rule.

So, is Brewer one of the two deals in place? What does it take to pull the trigger?

We reportedly had deals in place last December and nothing went down, so I'm definitely not holding my breath this time around.

I didn't mean to be critical, just saying. I'm actually completely on board with Morey and Co constantly working all of the angles.

Subtext from whoever leaked that to Woj: "List of teams with potential to include in a three team deal. Start feeding"

So the Rox and Clips are the most active buyers and the sellers are probably discussing Rondo, Dragic, Brewer, Monroe, Stephenson, Garnett, etc deals

TPE's are not subject to the 150%+100k rule. They are their dollar value , no more.

The TPE generated by sending Lin to the Lakers has a value of $8,374,646 , not a dollar more.

Clippers will get Brewer, Hedo is done and they need a replacement for him.

Brewer would be a good fit playing for Doc Rivers.

Rockets have to farm up talent if they want any. Thankfully, our crop of youngsters is looking very good this year (D-Mo, Canaan, K-Pap, Black). Promising young bunch there, and if we brought Brewer in whose minutes would he absorb? Terry? K-Pap?

    Actually it's $100,000 more.

With all the injuries we've had, you don't think depth is valuable?

Besides, his contract would be extremely valuable at the trade deadline.

Actually no and no. Who would you cut? And that salary makes him difficult to move except as a salary fill in. His value is not above the average NBA player. He is almost dead average, which is damning in itself.

The Clippers are less than $800k below their hard cap (the "apron" level), and they don't have their first rounder this year, so it's going to be tough for them to make any significant trades this season without sending out a good player (i.e., Jamal Crawford). Few teams would have interest in Matt Barnes without a sweetener.
