this isn't a trade but rather a waive and sign deal. We waive either Francisco Garcia or Clint Capella (try to trade him first for cash or a pick) and sign Carlos Delfino back. He was waived by the Clippers before the start of the season we could sign him for cheap and he is a great 3 point shooter and also plays D. I think having played with Harden and under McHale would benefit us a lot. Remember his Defense on Z-Bo, and who could forget this.... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/CbW3aAeUFiA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Random thought: Howard ...for... Bledsoe, Kieff Morris, and Len PLUS a 1st round pick Rockets push their championship window open 4 more years. We round out the team with skilled youth on fair contracts that would blend in well with the core that is already here. We will have the will money to keep DMo. Len in time should be the real deal, too --> High skill set plus size plus KMH & Dream. Bledsoe, Harden, Ariza, Kieff, Dmo The Suns get their super star.
I was pointing out that Monroe likely isn't worth the asking price. Since you ask ... No , I don't think Monroe is worth the cost of a pick (assuming its a #1) nor the cap space to resign him in the future. Just don't like the idea of giving up assets for what would be a rental as I cant see Morey resigning Monroe in the offseason .... Now if he had full bird rights , that may change my opinion. BUT with T.Jones down for who knows how long , I do believe the Rockets could use another quality big. Right now all they have in the "Quality Big department" is Howard & DMo. Black has been better than I ever expected but come playoff time , he's going to be matched up with much more talented players , even as a bench player. Dorsey has had his moments but I'd like to see him buried at the end of the bench .... only suiting up in emergency situations. With his FT shooting he's almost unplayable in close game situations .... HackaDorsey would be even better for the opposition than HackaDH12. As I stated above , there are a couple of scenario's where you could upgrade both the guard spot & add a big using only the Lin TPE. If I'm going the rental route (a player not intended to be resigned in the offseason) that's likely the way I'd go. You'd obviously be dealing with teams who were bound for the lottery willing to shed salary for low value assets. Denver Mozgov (2nd year team option , likely costs a premium asset) Philly Alexey Shved Mbah a Moute Indy C.J. Watson Orlando Luke Ridnour (2nd year team option) Knicks Dalembert Minnesota Mo Williams You could pick up any two of those guys and fit them in the Lin TPE and improve the bench while not have to give up much in terms of assets other than Mosgov. Probably quite a few others you could add to that list .... but this was just an example.
How about we get jason thompson from the kings for t.jones. At least we would have some serious size at the pf spot with him alternating with dmo. he has the length and athleticism to help dwight man the paint and spread the floor
To PHX: Greg Monroe, Nick Johnson, NOLA pick To DET: Jason Terry, Terrance Jones, Clint Capela To HOU: Goran Dragic, Josh Smith PG: Dragic / Beverley / Canaan SG: Harden / Daniels SF: Ariza / Papanikolaou / Garcia PF: Smith / Motiejunas / Black C: Howard / Dorsey That, my friends, is the best team in basketball.
stop adding Greg Monroe in trades, he won't be traded at all because he wants to keep his bird rights and he has to give consent on any trade
That trade on the other thread where Monroe goes to PHX, Dragic goes to HOU, and 1st rounder and TPE goes to DET is a very plausible trade. I think everyone wins there. We get to use Goran as a starter or a scoring punch off the bench (unlikely) and it'll make our roster depth better. If Jones is still out in March, I don't feel confident about Black and Dorsey being in the rotation. Probably want to search for a back-up Big from someone. Okafor still looking for a team? Or is he completely our of the league now?
might have to throw in some seconds to Denver...I think Mil. actually get the better deal with Chandler and T. Jones
As long as Jones is injured, he won't be going anywhere. I do hope he will be fit soon to play for us.
*Cue the It's Happening GIF Would love it if he came back. Don't think we have to give up an arm and leg for him like we do with other players.
