you guys need to calm the $%^@@ down. I cannot believe that a guy who was supposed to be a complete scrub just like 45 days ago today is being treated like the second coming of Wilt Chamberlain or something, the truth is DMo is neither. He was not a scrub then and he is not a Superstar now.

He is an improved role player who has gained enough confidence to actually become a valuable asset both on the court and/or on the trade table. I admit I used to hate the dude, and now i am surprised and content with his development, but in reality he has only been playing at his current level for less than a month, i would like to see him continue at this level for at least a couple of months more before i am convinced that this is not just a mirage and that his new found confidence, skills, and on court impact are for real and not just some kind of fluke a la "Linsanity", and this knowledge is something only time gives.

Bottom line he is playing really well and i would love to see him play like that for a long time for us, but given that his stock is high right now I would trade him for a more established player like Dragic or Rondo if they were offered to us, that is a trade for All Stars or Borderline All Stars, 2 months ago to be even considering such a thing, DMo for an All Star would have been ludicrous (it still kind of is), now however although its far fetched is more plausible. i wouldn't trade him for a Role player, only for someone who could actually be a starter in a contender like we believe we are, and if that starter is not offered then i keep DMo and see were he takes us.

Is there even any proof that cyberx is a Lakers fan? When exactly did he say he was a fan of the Lakers lol?

since his first steps in here, he was trying to convince us that bynum would be a great pickup for the rockets lol. that being said, his fakers tint still doesn't negate the good tidbits he's thrown the board since arriving.

But what they paid for Dwight was basically nothing, and what Orlando ultimately received was pretty lousy (fortunately for them Vucevic panned out but when he was acquired he was basically year 2 dmo), because the contract situation is a huge factor in the value.

We're on the same page. That is why I am a proponent for trading for Dragic now rather than trying to sign him as a FA this offseason.

Nope. Definitely not. Dragic is pretty much a very good player at the deepest position in the NBA. The Rockets are set at the PG position. The front court however is an imperative need. And it is looking like D-Mo has a slim chance at becoming something very special in the NBA. If the Rockets do trade D-Mo for Dragic I would hope that they received multiple high draft picks in return.

    I'm with you.

Our frontcourt would become Dwight and the pips

I know that this sounds ridiculous for this thread given the first 820 pages, but it is officially derailed. We've gone off the deep end.

Horford's injuries are a concern, I'd say a tentative yes (but id want to see medical evidence that what was busting his pecs has been fixed, ie an identified cause and steps taken to address), Dragic, nah, there's like 8-10 other pgs in the nba almost or slightly better than him, and that's not even touching the tier 1 guys, he's a system guy who was in the perfect system last year and we sure as **** wouldn't design it around him, real stars don't need that, the universe collapsed around james and he came out the other end as galactus.

The production we got from D12 and Dmo together was beautiful. I see DM running with that instead of getting Dragic. I still believe he will try and get him another way but Dmo is off the table IMO going by how DM has dealt in the past.

When Marc Gasol was 24, you'd probably have said similar things about him. Looking back, the Grizzlies made a good trade. 7 foot PF's that play really good defense and have an advanced post game are incredibly rare and exceedingly valuable. When you get one, you hold on to them

I'll take the Lakers two championships as a result of trading DMO if we're extending this metaphor.

Tjones is a basketball cripple right now. Until he shows he can play, he isn't worth a 3rd round pick.

I mean when or if healthy. But really if just prefer to let these guys grow and gel. I think morey has done a good job of gathering talent and because of the injuries guys have had to step up.

Jordan's defense is improved since Doc started coaching the Clipps, but outside of shot blocking his defense has never been considered great.
