Do keep up. D-Mo is in all probability worth much more on the market than Dragic. By himself. Point guards are a dime a dozen. Shutdown paint defenders that can put up 15+ points as a center and also put the clamps on power forwards in the league? There may only be one.

D-Mo goes on the market in the summer of 2016. The estimated salary cap is $90M - $94M per team. Money is just going to be sloshing around. I kid you not.

Dragic cannot start at the 4 or back up 4/5. That is a prime need position right now with Dwight recently coming back from injury and TJ still out. D-Mo is also the best low post scorer on the team. If D-Mo is traded, it has to be for a LMA type, not a PG (where a crucial upgrade is a luxury rather than a need with Bev, Canaan and Terry on board).

Another facillitator would be the cherry on top of the sundae, but would rather bring in a player with some opportunity (high upside plus first/second rounder) like Stephenson or JSmoove. Attaining another quality big and a 3-D type wing would be ideal.

The disposable Rockets have to be some combo of Troy, Garcia, Dorsey, Black, Nick & Capela (although would rather keep the rooks). And even one of Terry/Canaan, if superstar is involved.

D-Mo and Pap are not only great complementary players to HH&A, they are both young, D minded, high motor, high IQ and keep ball from getting sticky. Their intangibles are off the charts.

Tired of sifting though all these garbage arguments on players values. There is a reason you aren't in a basketball front office.

Who knows what the market will be like in 2 years, but the good thing is we don't even really need to care at this point.

If the salaries matched, I'd move Dmo for melo. Who says no?

Then trust me, you have no understanding of the modern NBA. Or the positional talent distribution. So let us go down the paycheck potential for every NBA position. PG < PF < SF << SG < Centers. The above average point guards in the NBA are earning ~$7M. D. Jordan is averaging 13 points a game and pulls down $11.5M. And he is a bargain.

Hmm, yeah makes sense. He was real unprofessional about the whole ordeal. At the same time I might be one of the very few dozen people on here that would be open to absorbing his contract with the TPE in a trade with the Wolves even with his injury.

I believe he means trade market. Yes he is correct. Dragic is a FA and DMo is under contract for this year and next. DMo right now has more trade value than Dragic.

And bigs get paid more than wings. If you are 7 feet, run, and chew gum at the same time, you are going to get a big contract. That is why I can't believe what happened to Greg Monroe last off-season. Asik got us a lottery pick, and dunking for him is a 50 percent proposition.

Jordan isn't getting paid for his offense. He getting paid because he's a great defender and the best rebounder in the league. He's a pretty bad example.

You have to put it all in context. Asik two years ago got $8M and he had never played anything but a backup and obviously could not score. So where exactly is D-Mo in the race to a max contract in the summer of 2016? IMHO leading the pack. Who do you choose to build a team around? Certainly not an above average PG. You choose a lock down center who can put up 15+ points a game. And get out there and shut down power forwards on demand. No team has great defense than cannot shut down the paint. None.

And D-Mo can do none of those things consistently.

Actually D-Mo is at least as good of a defender as Jordan. Maybe better. And of course you are right about the rebounds. But Jordan never ever created a shot in his career. He is all about junk points. A team can run an efficient offense through D-Mo. And there is all that money begging to be spent in the summer of 2016.
