Hey, Cyberx quick question? What's Kevin Martin's relationship with McHale like? Would he be open to a return?
I know you're infatuated with Dmo and all but you can best believe he is tradable. Especially for a player like Dragic. And no he is not worth more. Dude just not hitting his stride while Dragic already set his mark on the league.
Yes, the Rockets should sell high on DMo. Trade him to the Lakers for a first round pick. Then sign Al Harrington.
Happy Trade Season! Plenty of names kicked around. One of the Phoenix point guards [Bledsoe, Dragic, Thomas] Lance Stephenson Brandon Jennings; Josh Smith Rajon Rondo David Lee Dion Waiter Thaddeus Young; Mo Williams NY teams Pelicans [minus Holiday, Asik, Davis & Anderson]
I love the exaggeration here about pro-D-Mo posters. As far as, say, including Dmo in a trade for Dragic (hypothetically), do you want to hand over a finally-found-his-game 7-footer to a team that let their own walk away (Channing Frye) and are hurting for it? Plus we finally seem to have that 4/5 we've needed. PLUS Terrence Jones is likely out for awhile, maybe even the season, and we don't know if Dwight Howard will be in and out of the lineup. DMo is no Bosh or Aldridge, but we don't have them, nor are we going to get them. So, I say, NO, do not trade Dmo for Dragic. Certainly not while it would leave us with the chance of Tariq Black and Joey Dorsey at the 4 / 5.
I understand that... I also understand Bird rights... and as Dragic will most assuredly command max or near max money in the offseason - it's good to be the guy who can pay him more if needbe... (sidenote, yes Goran will be overpaid starting next season, I believe Morey's goal is to acquire a starting quality pg and upgrade pf - and then blow the salarycap... overpaying Goran, PBev, KPap and whichever pf we can get, isn't gonna matter when were capped out anyway... and it's just Les' wallet it's hitting...) On the flipside, IF DMo were a free agent this offseason, how much would he command? I think somebody might be intrigued enough to offer 4yrs/20m - but that ain't Dragic $$$$... and if we're assessing value...
I would love for Morey to keep this team together. They are playing pretty good so why make changes when you really don't have to. But we know Morey will pull the trigger on something when the trade deadline come around. Dude is always looking to upgrade the roster. And right now if your name is not Howard and Harden, you are basically trade bait.
If we look back to when DMo started to consistently put double digit figures we would go back 11 games @ the Dallas 11/22 game. Since then he has been averaging 15.9 points per game. As we learned from Linsanity that amount of few games cannot be called consistency however DMo has been very profitable for Les with his point per $ @ $93,274.97. LMA on the other hand on the same stretch of 11 games is averaging 23 ppg at a cost of $655,686.22 per point. DMo is in the books for 2 more seasons and even if we calculate his current ppg 10.4 against his 2016/17 salary of $3,278,996 he would be at $315,288.08 per point. If this production is not a fluke and continues his 15.9 ppg he is worth $206,108.32 per point in the 16/17 year. The Denver game just showed a very productive possession between Beard, D12, and DMo and it was magnificent but let’s be honest it won’t always be that way. Some are scared that his production will decrease playing along Howard but it should not be that much. Dmo should actually get better looks because help defender needs to stay with D12 however yes I do agree his touches will go down as D12 will demand the ball more. Look guys as you can see there are pros and cons but I would just keep DMo it just seems the best for the Rockets financially. I would even go as far as saying our bench is set as well as long as they are healthy. DMo + TJones = Aldridge and Bev + Canaan = Dragic. If anything let’s just get rid of Garcia and use the TPE to get another good role player this year preferably someone that knows how to lob a pass to a center correctly. The only other thing I would think can help the Rockets is trading either Dorsey or Black plus pick for a more offensive orientated backup center. Signed - Fan that would not trade DMo for LMA (not that POR would do it anyways lol)
lol If Dmo is legit then we have found an answer to our prayers but about a month ago he was sucking a lot and looking like a bust. If he could facilitate a trade and get a top tier PF that has proven to be so then we should consider it.
I find it funny that all the recent talk has been about buying bigs either as a D12 backup or PF - but now some are saying trade DMo for a PF. If we have any hope of a deep run in playoffs, we need depth and getting rid of a player that's finally found form seems silly. But hey, I also don't think we need a PF either when we have a fit Beverley and Canaan (although that seems rare these days in itself). So who am I to know?
Who what now? 4/20m? He'd get at least 4/60, the danger with dmo is that someone might even offer him a max.
That is of course the problem. The only saving grace is that the salary cap is going to go up ~$22M between now and 2016. And the Rockets will have full Bird rights to D-Mo. It is almost, shockingly, like Morey planned it. More likely had some luck on his side and will be there with the resources to handle the situation.
I would do either Nola Pick or DMO attached with Jason Terry, Capela, Johnson, Canaan and Tjones for Dragic (under the table agreement that he will sign for the 4 year max). That gives us the 3 stars we need...Dragic, Harden and Dwight. There is no better GM to fill out the rest of the roster spots that will be available. Not to mention we would still have Ariza, Beverly, K-Pap and either DMO or the NOLA pick to work with. Plus other players that may be coming from the Suns. Dragic/Beverly Harden/Green?/Daniels Ariza/K-Pap/Garcia D-Mo or Tjones/K-Pap/PJ Tucker? Howard/Black/Dorsey
Huh what lol are you serious. 15 million per, come on man. I don't think so. But hey we have seen quite a few franchises including our Rockets make mistakes like that.
Have you ever like, even once, looked at what the price points in the big man market is? It's like they're playing a whole different game to little guys, you can get 12m for being an uncoordinated mess. Take Larry Sanders, can't shoot, can't pass (like he's so bad offensively, it's crippling), average rebounder, can block shots, off court is off the charts bad, $11m! Heck people are talking a max deal for Monroe whose a 15ppg player, whose slow and tragically bad on defense.
With the salary cap jumping to 67-70 mil next season? I think it's plausible. Not to mention the utter lack of decent big men in today's NBA.
The issue isn't the relationship between Martin and McHale. The issue is the relationship between Morey and Martin. Martin was a complete and total ******* on the Rockets, especially after the Chris Paul deal.
