Who cares? Why do we always have to be comparing players???? Pat Bev has been a perfect fit for us so what does it matter? He can be considered the worst PG in the NBA or the best and it still doesn't matter... He works for us.... End of story.....
Of all point guards, I don't mind them instead of PatBev Westbrook Paul Curry Lowry Parker Conley Lillard Dragic - maybe: because of his shot creating ability and ability to take over offensively, but Pat's D is better I would avoid these other candidates from OP's list: Rondo - extremely low scoring efficiency, not worth the next near-max contract Bledsoe - don't bring a needed skill and won't fit as well and not worth a near max contract they can create shots very well, but... Wall - low scoring efficiency Irving - suspect D Rose - not worth the max given the injury DWill - past his prime, suspect D Conclusion: PatBev's been great. It's really hard to upgrade at PG anyway.
Bev is shooting almost 46% from beyond the arc. Maybe he needs to shoot more. In our offense harden is the PG and Bev is more of a shooting guard. I'm wondering what would happen to our offense if we traded for a ball dominant PG? Do we really want to take the ball out of Hardens hands? It would be nice to have a PG that could drive and create a little more, but we had that in Lin and we ended up bringing Lin off the bench. I really like having a PG that is an elite defensive player.
I will be very pissed off if the Rockets let Bev go to another team. My only issue with him are his health issues given the way he plays.
I can't compare Bev to those other guys, because he doesn't handle the ball nearly as much as them. I don't think Bev would be as good as those guys if he had to play as a pure point guard, but he is excellent at his role on this team. We just need him to continue his 3 and D play.
Pat is a great fit with harden and our style of play. but if were real Bev is a elite role player. my dream fit for harden is Lowry , conley , and dragic (suspect D though).
Like others have said, Beverley's a good fit with the team right now. Not sure what his ranking would be, but as long as he keeps top 10 PGs from playing like top 10 PGs, it doesn't matter all that much.
I do not agree that the above are better than Beverley. They have different skills, but overall Beverley offers more or at least the same to a contender.
Individually, I'd say that Paul Westbrook Curry Parker Lillard Wall Irving Rose Lowry Conley Rondo Bledsoe Lawson Williams Walker Teague Thomas Holiday Rubio and Carter-Williams are better. So about 21 sounds right. 22 if you include Dragic who doesn't play PG this season.
It's a good question but it is ultimately irrelevant. Pat Beverley is the perfect fit for us, I don't care how good he is overall
