I've felt the same way. Although a lot of it came from just past examples of Rockets bigs.

Landry, Jones - started off showing a ton of promise, continued to develop
Dorsey - sucked at the beginning, continued to suck
Patterson, Morris, Hill - mediocre at the beginning, continued to become average

I think DMo is the first Rockets big to actually show that continuous development curve that people speak of in theory but rarely happens.

Dmo was supposed to be our star in the making before we got Harden or Howard. Nice to see him showing some of the potential. He is solid defensively and is magic in the post. It's interesting to see how well he can keep it up.

D-no has looked like a solid 4 offensively but he is a poor rebounder and almost non-existent as a shot blocker. Having said that he has some of the most fluid post moves in the nba so his potential to be a 3rd option on a championship team is there. Letting him remain in the starting lineup is going to create so many match-up problems for teams defensively because of all of the different options harden will have off of the dribble drive that in clutch time we will be almost unstoppable. Would love to see him get more physical for defensive boards though.
This team when healthy can be the best team in the nba, especially now that we have proven to have more depth than initially projected and Ariza has been all we could have hoped for out of a defensive 3 who shoots corner 3's very well. Should make a legitimate title run this year, no excuses.

I'd like to see Dmo on the bench at the start behind Jones/traded player, simply because of what we looked like at the end of the 1st/3rd when both Dwight and Dmo are on the bench, definitely finish them together though.

Fortunately Dmo's a Euro so i doubt he cares how his minutes work

He wasn't - DMo was the 20th pick in his draft. If anything, Marcus Morris was supposed to be that 'star' - he was picked 14th in that very same draft.

The way DMo is playing now far surpasses the expectations you should have for a 20th pick.

If Motie can be consistent with 3pt shooting, he will be an All-Star in 2-3 yrs.

In the midst of all the Dmo love, he still needs to get stronger on the boards and not get pushed around so easily. Other than that, he has improved tremendously.

22/10/4 with a consistent midrange game earns him All-Star games -- especially if he continues to develop defensively. A 3-pt shot is not necessary to stretch the floor, IMO.

I've been watching him move off from the ball, too. Reminds me of Scola. Very high energy and tons of movement.

His BBIQ is off the charts.

DMo... thought he was gonna be a beast when we drafted him, and after

Then I started to doubt when he sucked at first

Now I'm a believer again. He has all the tools and skills to be an elite NBA big man. Just needs to develop his consistency a bit more.

3rd year DMo would probably demolish rookie DMo in terms of strength. There's probably something like a 30-40 pound difference. I'm not sure if DMo can put any more weight without hitting a point of diminishing returns and losing his mobility which is EXTREMELY valuable on PnR defense, his post moves, running the court...

My favorite thing about DMo is his basketball IQ and feel for the game. The offense just flows with him out there.

Dmo is going to be a star. He just needs to get stronger and develop a mid range jumper and it's over! Rockets found their 3rd star.

We just need the Greek battier to come back healthy -- Pumpernickel is our best passer into the post.

    DMo highlights from tonite's game...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k--w2iCiJ4

    And this, courtesy of DownToBuck:

Donatas sat alone in his study, the lights dimmed. He was fine during the waking hours, when the light of the sun could chase his shadows away. At night, however, the visions returned.

He closed his eyes. Immediately, great pillars of fire jumped into his view. He stood and watched, helplessly, as the building burned to the ground. He had been in charge of this orphanage, the wonderful children contained within its walls flourishing under his care. He had only a few errands to run, it would take so little time, and the children loved the fireplace.

"Why have you forgotten me, Donatas?" "Don't you love us?" "Please help, Donatas, I'm burning..." He did not know if the words he heard were imagined. The screams, however, were most certainly not.

His teammates did not know the real reason he turned to basketball. His excuse of "Me really tall, so they make me play and I enjoy" was more than enough for them. They did not know of his past.

He opened his eyes again. This time, the flames did not disappear.

I'm not really saying his needs to bulk up, he needs to be more solid with his boxing out and not allowing himself to be pushed off the boards. Other bigs at times still push him around down there when it comes to getting the boards.

As much as I would want DoMo to start, I rather have him take the load for the 2nd unit once K-pap comes back.

Those two have great chemistry together and they should be the main focus for the second unit.

Let's face it, Rockets don't have anyone that can create for themselves in the second unit. Maybe Canaan but he's still young. I prefer DoMo in the post.

Quote after the game from Nuggets head coach:

"We got dominated by their big guys inside," Denver coach Brian Shaw said. "Howard and (Donatas) Motiejunas we couldn't stop when they threw the ball in the post. They just backed us down and got whatever they wanted."

    It's happening, guys.
