Ariza is being forced into a role he is not good in because of injuries... His strengths on offense are spot up 3 point shooting when his feet are set and slashing off the ball. When he is asked to dribble/create, and play 40+min while guarding the opposing best player, it is unreasonable to expect him to play well.. Dont be stupid, he is still a great fit on our team
He is playing 38 minutes a game! If you don't think he is earning every cent of that contract your are mistaking.
His defense is awesome, obviously, but for as much as he shoots (about 12 a game), his shooting percentage can't be as bad as it's been.
Harden's hug with Ariza after the layup around Jason Thompson shows how close the two are now. good chemistry overall
everyone hating should take a look at our defense. yes coaching on that end is clearly much better but Ariza makes such a huge impact on d. and our roster is completely ****ed and he's playing 40 min every game. you can't expect him to score 5 3s a game while guarding the opposing team's best player night after night.
Wait, you posted this today too. Wtf are you talking about? Did we watch the same guy who made so many crucial threes tonight?
Why don't fans think fatigue is part of the game? Parsons is only playing 33 minutes per game while Ariza is playing 38 minutes per game. The Rockets are amongst the league leaders in back to backs as well. Ariza is playing on the most injured team in the league only suiting up 8 guys and CHASING the other teams best defender every night. While the Mavs haven't had any injuries. And you just expect him to have fresh legs every time he shoots.
Ariza may piss you off at times, but he seems to always come through at the right time with a 3 or a great defensive play.
Ariza showed his value in the 4th with crucial plays on the defensive end and big 3 point shots. Ariza like others have said in this thread, is being hurt by having shoulder more offensive responsibility with the injuries but when the team is fully healthy, he helps this team more than Parsons. Harden is the MVP of the league right now but I don't think the team is as good without Ariza either.
