He's just playing out of his comfort zone right now. Once players return to their rightful roles, so will Ariza, and that's when his efficiency will go up. We already knew he couldn't handle the ball, so now when he's forced to do it why should we be surprised at the results? Just be patient. Ariza fits this team like a glove.
Really miss Cannan and Papa out there to create space....and plays for others. And our post entry passing..yuck. DD
Ariza is sucking offensively because he's being asked to do more offensively. We already knew that Ariza isn't a playmaker, we didn't sign him to be one.
Complaining about Ariza right now is kind of dumb. Ariza is shooting bad yes but he still helps this team a lot in other areas. Like I said in game thread, he along with the other starters are the only reason this game was a game.
You can't keep bumping threads like this whenever players have off nights. Jason Terry sucked ass tonight - and I mean absolute ass - but we're not gonna start and bump a similar thread for Terry.
His start was obviously unsustainable...but he can't keep chucking up sub-35% shooting nights on a consistent basis. He's gotta be better than that, regardless of his role. Having said that...getting Dwight/Papa/Canaan/etc. back will help things.
in rhythm on fast breaks, he shoots 3s as a high percentage. him dribbling and pulling up..not so good results.
When Ariza is asked to be anything more than a role player, he is garbage and almost useless on the offensive end. When everyone is healthy he is a perfect fit, but as soon as that changes his value is greatly diminished
Players like Ariza would be much more efficient if he was more of a catch and shoot player running off screens and curls. However, I have to settle with the fact that Mchale is coaching this offense and player movement without the ball is a sin in this offense. Klay Thompson would struggle in a Mchale run offense. That is how stagnant his offensive playbook is.
whether the team is healthy or injured, he's still missing countless open shots and good looks. im a bit concerned with him not being a reliable shooter. he doesnt need to repeat last season but he hasnt had a good shooting game since nov 12. that's terrible! even when the team gets healthy it doesnt look like he'll shoot much better than he is now. good thing he can do more than shoot and beverley is panning out or we'd have 3 average shooters in our starting 1 2 and 3. i expect harden to be an above avg shooter as the season goes on and team gets healthy
unless he is shooting over 60 percent, no one here is happy with him shooting it seems and yet he does other things during games to help the team out like play defence.
so only over 50 percent counts does it ? no 40 percent games as they are horrible lol give me a break, stop showing hate towards our players
