I have to disagree on this. Getting 1-2 mil playing in us is better than getting 3 mils in China. And no, you are not going to get 4-5 mil playing in china. And not everyone view him the same as Yao, to many people in China, they view him as American. The marketing value is no where equal to Yao, not even close. He will find a backup job in us to play couple years more.

If I were Lin, I'd play in Australia to get the Asian market while having a buffer against the horde. It may be marginally less competitive than the CBL, but it makes no sense to lose quality of life over a few dollars
