I do not think either is a classic LOOGY.

IIRC Chapman can also be a multi-inning guy as well.

So presumably $12MM this year for both Gregerson and Neshek. Much better value than just getting either Miller or Robertson for close to the same price.

I'm just not a fan of Chapman's control... some innings he has it, others he cannot find the plate. Sure, some of that could just be nerves/confidence... but lights-out control is possibly the only thing I look for in a quality bullpen pitcher.

Love the signings. We are beginning to resemble a real team. Any Jesse Crain murmurs this offseason? Wouldn't mind taking another flier on him for a hometown discount/thank you league minimum.

He's the new Doug Brocail... team forever waiting for him to get over his constantly injured state and eventually will become the next pitching coach.

We have around 8-10MM left... sounds like a match if I must say so myself.

Whether it is Chapman or someone else, I'd prefer Sipp not to be utilized in the Loogy role, much. I would rather use Sipp in more critical situations than just whatever situation a loogy happens to be needed.

I don't even remember any of these pitchers being mentioned as already on the roster besides Qualls. Sipp? Isaian "Sip" Canaan? Tracy Chapman?

You must not have paid attention last year. Sipp was an integral part of the bullpen and an overall pleasant surprise.

I agree Sipp won't "just" be that... but Chapman isn't all that great at getting anybody out (let alone lefties only).

Thus, if you need a late inning lefty reliever to face the dangerous lefty batter, I'd rather them go with Sipp.

As it is, Neshek/Qualls/Gregerson will probably be allowed to face that lefty, so you're really only looking for a guy when those guys are unavailable or are struggling.

Ugh... don't remind me of that ridiculous move.

What was even funnier was the feature articles that showcased the move were also left wondering what the ultimate point of it was, and whether or not Porter really knew what he was doing.

Didn't we have him a couple of years ago? Is he good?

love love love Gregerson + Neshek over 1 of miller or robertson...

I think were going to add the remaining 8M via trade, just my prediction.

Yes. He was part of the Chris Carter/Stassi/Peacock trade. He's ok... switch-hitting SS.. had a down year last year, but would be a perfectly good place-holder till Correa gets here.
