Hypothetical question: Who would you prefer, Jeremy Lin or Rafer Alston? And on that note, Jeremy Lin or Matt Maloney?
You mean we get to see AI/White chocolate/Stephon Marbury vs Lin??? Talk about an all star match-up for the century. Please make this happen!!!
Failed again. Most people (except for LOF like you and some others) in here are Rockets fan, we care about the Rockets, nothing but the best interest of the Rockets, some may like Yao more, some may like Dream more, some may like T-Mac more. But the bottom line is, Rockets wins/championships OVER all of the above. If by tomorrow, we can get Davis for Dwight or Lebron for Harden, most of the people in this forum will do it in a heart beat. This doesn't mean we hate Dwight or Lebron, of course the LOF will never get it. Lots of people dislike Lin not because of his skin, not because of his believe in God, and not because he likes to eat at McDonald's and not Whataburger, most people don't give a f**k on what he does off the court. Only LOF likes to make examples and comparison for Lin's off the court "activities", like glorifying his laughable commercial value, he is a good citizen ect. Well, you know what, when he sucks on the court, that's the only route LOF can go to glorify a mediocre player. Of course I got it. That's why you will see people laugh at Lin's performance on the court with the Lakers this year, because we have seen it before and that's exactly what we expected to happen again. I don't see people give a sh#t here at CF about whom is Lin dating, what is his sexual life about, his family stories, his influence on the youngsters. Because that's not the point here. But as always, theoe were the directions only LOF will go when they failed to convince themselves that Lin is just purely suck on the court most of the time comparing to the LOF's expectations. Get over it, but I doubt you will anyway.
Don't forget there was an LOF who came on the GARM and started preaching that Jeremy Lin is the Jackie Robinson of basketball. I immediately wanted that girl from the Ring to jump out of his monitor when he wrote that.
On Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014, Golden State Warriors majority owner Joe Lacob was invited for a Q&A session hosted by Phil Sanderson. The following is a transcript of the talk, re-ordered by topic, and some quotes that we tweeted out last night have been highlighted in bold. What is your biggest regret? Are you talking about the Warriors? Okay, because I have a lot of regrets on certain companies I didn’t quite do right when I was at Kleiner. Biggest regret? You know, I don’t think that way, so this is a little problematic question for me. I’m almost looking forward — I don’t like to look back, you know. I don’t really have a regret, to be honest. I guess I could sit here and try to drum one up, but I really think we go do things. We decide what we’re going to do and we go do it. It’s all about action and it’s about if you need people, hire the best people. If you need money, go get the money. I’m very, very aggressive about all this. I think you have to be in any business, but particularly in this business. And, you know, there’s always trades. I will tell you, there’s a couple little things that have to do with players, which probably take too long to describe here, but Jeremy Lin was a guy that grew up on the Peninsula playing basketball with my son, actually. I knew him really well and we wound up bringing him in, signing him to a contract, even though he wasn’t drafted. You know, he went to Harvard, of course. Stanford blew that. They had a chance to bring him in, so that’s a regret in that we had him. I had a coaching staff that didn’t really use him and didn’t see what we saw and he wound up going somewhere else and becoming Jeremy Lin. That’s a little bit of a regret that I didn’t trust my own gut just a little bit stronger when it came down to the decision. It was complicated and there were trade-offs. It’s like anything else and I can’t get into what those trade-offs were, but there were. You know, you hate to see something get away. What I hate more than anything else in the world for our business is to develop assets and then let them go somehow or have to let them go, because you have only so many resources. We did something that we haven’t discussed, which was very important and, not to belabor this, we wanted to develop future management and future players, not just the stars, so we bought a minor league team in North Dakota. Bismarck, North Dakota. And my son, Kirk, went and ran it for a year and it was his idea, actually. http://letsgowarriors.com/joe-lacob-size-defense-rebounding-character-regretting-jeremy-lin/
I never tried to convince anyone that Lin is not "Purely suck". Great grammar by the way. I've watched the Rockets since they played the Knicks in the finals in 1994. I may have wavered here and there in my bball interest (mostly due to flopping and ref bias and primadonna players) but I am hardly a lof as indicated by my join date. I post a bit in this thread mainly because I don't appreciate the anti Asian racism in it, but you will never find me telling everyone Lin is the best ever. You going on your tangent about real Rockets fans is dandy and I'm sure you will garner lots of support for that. My question is what does that have to do with hating on Lin, which was my only gripe here? How does it benefit the Rockets to go on twitter or in this forum everytime he has a bad game or gets benched?
It doesn't matter if you started to watch the Rockets since you are an infant nor will it matter that I followed the Rockets when they were the San Diego Rockets. Will it make sense to you that my ID has ASIAN in it and I should be a LOF automatically? Are you aware of the latest youtube video to praise Harden's defense was make by a Rocket fan in Taiwan? Yeah, like WTF and he defended Harden instead of bashing him like other LOF? Stop using the race card and other ***** to find excuses again and again, this thread is about Lin's performance on the court - as a Laker. The bottom line is : he sucks, more than often, which proved many of us rated him correctly the last 2 seasons when he was here. If you are still butt hurt about it and can not face the truth, go find a wall to hug.
While I don't understand why this has anything to do with Lin, but I agree that Lacob is becoming the Jerry Jones of NBA except he doesn't even have any rings.
T-Mac wants to make a comeback with the Lakers. Does this tarnish his legacy as a Rockets legend? http://mweb.cbssports.com/nba/eye-o...still-play-but-doesnt-want-limits-to-his-play
I don't see much proof of rm365 being a LOF, but keep throwing it around. Maybe people will believe your smegma of apologetics and hollow Rockets fandom. Just because one guy wants the LOHs to tone down their incessant whining and hating doesn't mean he's a LOF. As a PSA, Lin is finally off the team. Let. It. Gooooo. You'll feel better, clouds will rise, a halo will appear over your head. If the pureblooded Rockets fans don't really give a **** about ex-Rocket Lin as you're claiming, they wouldn't spend that much time watching Lakers game and posting about Lin. So they're posting in here for a different reason than loving the Rockets: Enjoying Lakers failing...check, except there's another thread for that. Enjoy Lin failing...you bet your ass. Number 2 has nothing to do with being a Rockets fan right now.
Obviously you still fail to understand some simple logic but just keep trying to divert the discussion towards hate. So listen up carefully, I said : most people here are Rockets fan, we care about the best interest for the Rockets over any individual players performance. Which obviously differ from lots of LOF's point of view. We view the performances of all the players in this team based on how he will contribute to the success of this team, NOT how he can affect the performance of other individual in this team. We value our coach the same, NOT base on how will his decision affect the stock and future of certain individuals. And because of above mentioned different points of views and conflicts of interests, hence the hell break in here the last 2 seasons. Yes, not everyone will follow every games in the NBA and lots of them won't even care anything else happened that's not directly related to this team. But for others, which will still watch lots of games other than the Rockets, or they still want to prove their points was valid - how do they value certain players based on their on court performance, that's what this forum about, that's what this thread about. I wonder why will you feel butt hurt when people was laughing at Lin when he was playing poorly? Heck, you have your chance to write a 50000 words post to praise him when he scored a double double the other night, will anyone acting like a sour loser and call you out by saying : who the fork care? Just move on. If not, then just stop shifting the focus and move back to the issue we want to discuss in this thread. Please educate us what is your plan for Lin to beat out a 31 years old, journeyman scrub to get his job back, or, at least playing up to an average NBA backup standard?
Feel bad for Lin. For his race-baiting fans? Nope! You forgot when McHale "slapped all of Asia in the face" by starting Pat Beverley? To Lin fans, it did not matter who was the better PG, just what the Asian situation was. (Even though they did not care about Yao, they did care about people in the Philippines and Taiwan: don't ask me why.) I personally was called a racist by Lin fans on this board, despite having loved Yao, lived in China for nine years, being an award-winning translator of Chinese poetry, and having a Korean wife of nine years. Lin was compared to Rosa Parks, Jackie Robinson, and some guy who was incarcerated in South Africa for 20 years (couldn't be Mandela). You forgot the slavery imagery of "Unshackle Lin"? You don't just barge into a place, call everyone a racist, and leave the place full of your droppings. F' those Lin fans hard. Over 14% of the board were LOF's last year. That sucked. Because they were new here, they had no restraint about starting threads, posting a million posts, and tossing bombs. Some of these self-confessed LOF's are still on the board trashing it up. Read the names. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=9324 Oh, and you don't have to watch the whole Lakers game, just the last 90 seconds or so, if they're losing. If they're winning, don't watch at all. Kobe, Lin fans, Laker fans and Boozer all go . What's not to like?
