If Brooklyn is out of the top 8 at the deadline and they can unload Dwill and/or Lopez, then a trade of Terrence for Mirza is overpaying.

just for a side note, did anyone know MarShon Brooks is out of the league?

I would def take a flyer on him next season if he matures and figures out his role on a team.

Yep that's exactly what i said:rolleyes:, stop assuming things and take a chill pill.

Of course he is contributing but you gotta give something to receive something and it's hard to include players without including one of Ariza, Terry and Papa due to salary. i'd rather have Ariza and papa over terry

Thanks for the update. I still have no clue how Morey might feel on the Rondo front. I am more certain that Morey wouldn't touch Smith with a 10 foot pole. The Brewer situation seems more realistic now that Papa went down, but I don't think he can really bring a whole lot to this team.

Actually Brewer might be the north south player that McHale has alluded to. A guy who can get you easy baskets by just outrunning his opponent.

I see his skill set, but I worry it is one that won't thrive in what we have created this season. I am somewhat worried that we would have to give up too much for him especially given he will only see limited minutes behind James and Ariza. I think Papa fits the bill for cheap third man.

I agree with that we shouldn't overpay for Brewer in any trades with Minny, but this dude could definitely helps us by giving Harden a breather for at least 15-18 minutes.

I am the worst when it comes to trading rules but I checked ESPN trading machine and all we need to give up is $4.7M of the Lin trade exception and it works.

Why would Minny do this? Brewer has 2 more years in his contract. I am just speculating but since they are in re-tooling mode, doesn't make sense to keep a 28 yr old who might not be part of their plans for the future. They won't have to pay him and gives them extra salary cap space to sign somebody else who is younger.

The only problem with this is who do we cut?

I think i'm warming up to Brewer, Harden needs rest and Ariza/Terry for that matter. Brewer can keep the defensive intensity at a high level. He's still a gawd awful shooter but at least he can hit it once in a while (against Houston) to keep it honest. 2 second round picks? I say go for it.

LOL at the idea of resurrecting the Josh Smith speculation.

Basic numbers say he's garbage. Advanced numbers say he's garbage. $14M per year owed with two years remaining after this season -AND- we would have to surrender key assets since his contract doesn't fit within the Lin TPE.

I mean, seriously? I know DM tends to surprise us with most of his moves, but this would go against all imaginable logic. This will not happen...and thank god.

Brewer for 2nds seems to be the most logical... esp if it keeps Garcia in a mentoring role!

Would rather have Lance Stephenson over Brewer, better facillitator and creates for himself. And Andrei Kirilenko over Josh Smith, true stretch 4 who can can also handle ball, pass, defend, steal, block shots & rebound. And I am a fan of both Smith and Brewer. But BR and AK47 are better fits on this team.

Much better fits, on the court and salary cap.

Question: If the Rockets trade for Dragic, do they then have is bird rights when he opts out this offseason?

You have to be careful with whoever we get even if we don't give up much for him. Remember when Indiana got Evan Turner last year? Not saying he was the reason for their downfall, but a trade isn't necessarily considered "can't hurt" even if we don't give up much.

As for Brewer, I really think he's not worth it. I feel he would come in and start off hot (a la Jordan Hamilton, yes I know Brewer is far superior) but then he would eventually become insignificant.

I still feel when fully healthy this team needs another PF.
The only players I see us not needing is Troy Daniels and Capela. I would like to see Morey get something nice out of the NOP pick, Capela, and Daniels.

K-PAPA Capela and pick for Jeff Green... We start Jeff green with DMO until dwight and jones come back... Then Green will become our 6th man. Our bench will be set and we will have a championship roster

    Dwight/DMO
    Jones/DMO
    Ariza/Green
    Harden/Terry
    Beverly/Canaan
